THE MOMENT is finally here! Welcome to the 2018 UEC European Cycling Championships. As part of this year s Championships both the Women s and Men s Time Trial - a specialist branch of Road Cycling - will start at the multi-award winning Riverside Museum, weave their way through the streets of, and head into the stunning Scottish countryside before returning for an exciting climax in Green. The Women s and Men s Road Race will start in Green and head to the west end of the city. Competitors will return to Green - where crowds of supporters will cheer them across the finish line. Local Attractions There is plenty to see and do in the centre of including a visit to the Riverside Museum, with more than 3,000 objects telling the story of s rich past. The Science Centre, Clyde Distillery and The SSE Hydro and the Scottish Event Centre are all in close proximity to the Riverside Museum, which sits on the banks of the River Clyde. Green is home to the People s Palace and Winter Gardens as well as the Nelson Monument and the restored Doulton Fountain. Nearby is the Briggait - the city s fish market in medieval times, Trongate 103, the Barrowland Ballroom and the Citizens Theatre, all of which are worth a visit. All food, drink and merchandise units accept cash and card payment. Young visitor wristbands We will be handing out young visitor wristbands for your little ones to wear in case they wander off during the excitement of the day! For more information ask a member of staff or visit the information point. Food and Drink Food and drink is available from the Riverside Museum café and restaurant. Baby changing Located within accessible toilets inside. Lost and found items All found items can be collected from the information point. Any unclaimed items will be held for 14 days. Contact 0141 287 2720 for further information. Unclaimed items will then be transferred to Police Scotland who can be contacted on 101. Accessible services Accessible toilets are located on the external and internal concourse. First aid Located in the external plaza to the front of the museum. Mobile first aiders are available. Venue Services - Green Merchandise Take home your own piece of the Championships! Official 2018 merchandise is available from the outlets inside Green. Check out our George Square megastore in. It operates from 18 June 17 August. First aid Located adjacent to the Nelson Monument. Mobile first aiders are available. Ask a member of staff for support. Water refill Located beside the Nelson Monument and the main food and drink area. Baby changing Located inside accessible toilets throughout Green. ATMs Located beside the Nelson Monument, subject to a small charge. Argyle Street in city centre has an abundance of ATM facilities. Accessible services An accessible viewing area is available during Road Race event days (5, 8 and 12 August) subject to availability. Accessible toilets are located throughout Green. A Mobiloo, with hoist and changing table, is available. Please bring your own sling if you wish to use the hoist. Located beside the Nelson Monument. Further information available at mobiloo.org.uk An autism aware quiet zone is located inside the east entrance. This space offers somewhere quiet and enclosed, where you can be supported by specially trained volunteers from Autism Network Scotland and Autism Resource Centre. Travel Information - Riverside Museum The Riverside Museum is well served by trains, buses and the Subway with a short walk to the venue. In order to experience a positive journey we encourage you to follow the advice as shown. Train Partick Station is well served by trains from Central and Queen Street. Walking route Up to a 15 minute walk from Partick Station and Partick/ Kelvinhall Subway stations. See map for details. Spectator parking There is no spectator parking available at the venue. Subway Partick and Kelvinhall Subway stations are well served from s city centre, West End and south side. Road closures On 8 August there will be no vechicle access to the Riverside Museum due to extensive road closures. For further information visit getreadyglasgow.com Accessible parking A small number of blue badge parking spaces are available for permit holders on a first come, first served basis. Cycle parking Located beside the main entrance to the Riverside Museum. Subject to availability. 8
