Help Your Scouts Fund Their Summer Adventure Crossroads of America Council s second year of Camp Card sales (2015) helped 258 units earn more than $85,000 towards their summer camp fees, equipment and other Scouting experiences! The intent of the winter/spring Camp Card sale is to allow Scout units to raise funds to pay for their summer Scouting program. This includes purchasing equipment such as tents and backpacks and to send Scouts to camp. Camp Cards may only be sold between March 1 and April 29, 2016. Marsh is allowing Scouts to sell Camp Cards in front of store locations again this year. To inquire about storefront sale availability or to schedule a sales booth, contact your local Marsh store manager directly (please do not call the corporate Marsh office). Dick s Sporting Goods and Shoe Carnival stores are not allowing storefront sales. Please do not contact the stores for this purpose. *You may receive up to 4 messages per week. Policies & Procedures Commission & Ordering Camp Cards sell for $5 each. Units earn 50% commission, or $2.50 per card sold, if the unit s balance is paid in full by May 13, 2016. After May 13, unit commission adjusts to 25% on any unpaid sales. Choose one adult to serve as the Camp Card Coordinator (CCC). This will be the only adult placing orders for your unit. Parents will not be able to order for their individual children. Cards are available in sets of 25. Initial orders of up to 30 sets (750 cards) may be placed by your CCC. Additional cards may be ordered after March 2 on a first come, first served basis. Camp Cards are ordered by the set, but individual Camp Cards can be returned (by May 13, 2016). Payment Units do not have to pay for ANY cards up front. Units may make one or more payments during the sale (March 1 - April 29) or before the final balance is due on May 13 to receive 50% commission on each card sold. Any unpaid card commissions will adjust 25% starting May 14. We cannot accept checks made out to a unit. Please ensure that the unit payment for the Camp Cards is in the form of a check (unit bank/checking account) payable to CAC-BSA and write 6CMPCRD in the memo line, Scout Unit account (in Scout Shop), cashier s check/money order, credit card (VISA or Mastercard only), or cash (not recommended). Return Policy Camp Cards may be returned to any council service center without penalty between March 2 - May 13. Cards MUST be in new condition (including the snap-off discounts). NO cards will be accepted for return after May 13, 2016. Crossroads of America Council reserves the right to refuse cards that have been damaged or are in poor condition. The unit is responsible for any unreturned cards. Be sure Scouts and parents treat each card as if it were a five dollar bill. Plan your UNIT s YEAR AT Make sure your Scouts have a great year! Program planning is very important to ensure Scouts and families have the best experience and an ideal year in Scouting. It provides clear communication and a plan to make a successful program. Units with a good program planning process have more Scouts, more leaders, do less fundraising and have more fun. Coming May 2016 to a location near you! Visit www.crossroadsbsa.org/iyos for updates and program planning resources.
