1. PRODUCTION: The major potato producing States are Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Assam. (Table-1.3). The details regarding seasonality, harvesting period and production of Potato crop are given in Table-1.1 The production of Potato during the year 2017-18 (First Advance Estimate) is estimated to be 1.5% higher as compared to the previous year. However as compared to past 5 years average production, it is 8.7% higher. (Table-1.3). The harvesting of potato in all the states completed. 2

3. STATUS OF POTATO MARKETING The average weekly, monthly and yearly wholesale and retail prices of potato in different markets and their variation percentage are given in Table-3.1. The average wholesale monthly prices of Delhi and All India along with graphic presentation are given in Table-3.2 and Table-3.3 respectively.
