Registration Information Durham County 4-H Office Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Registration by phone: 919-560-0536 No On-line Registration For a variety of reasons, we do not offer on-line registration. We do invite you to use the section of the CES web site to download the brochure of camps offered this summer. You may register by mail or in person. Mail Registration Camp mail-in registration begins as soon as you receive this brochure. Mail your registration along with your check or money order payable to Durham County 4-H to NC Cooperative Extension, 721 Foster Street Durham, NC 27701. Walk-in and Phone Registration You may register in person or by phone between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday in the 4-H office (room 107) of the Durham County Cooperative Extension Service. Phone in registration is not complete until all forms and payment have been received. Register Early Many camps fill up quickly so we urge you to register early. Enrollment is guaranteed only by payment of your camp fee and space availability. If minimum enrollment is not met, for any particular camp, it will be cancelled. Please register ahead of time so we can plan accordingly. Confirmation You will receive confirmation of camps you have registered for once all forms and payment have been received. Installment Plans Installments of two equal payments are available. No installments are available for one-day camps. Please notify us during registration that you would like to pay in installments. Cancellations, Withdrawals and Refund Policy Enrollment is limited in our camps so once you have enrolled, your participation is important to us we are counting on you to attend. If you must withdraw from a camp, we provide these options: If Durham County 4-H cancels a camp You will receive a full refund. Please allow 3-4 weeks for processing. If you need to withdraw from a camp You must notify Durham County 4-H at least two weeks before the camp begins. You will receive a refund less $10. Please If you have an emergency allow 3-4 weeks for processing. If an emergency prevents you from attending or continuing camp, Durham County 4-H may extend credit toward a future camp. Any credit you receive will be valid for one year from the date of the camp. If your schedule changes within two weeks of the beginning of camp You will not receive a cash refund. You may enroll in another camp, transfer your enrollment to a family member or friend or Durham County will extend a credit toward a future camp. This credit will be valid for one year from date of the camp. Again, mark your calendars there will be no reminder calls!!
Clover Bud Camp (Gardening) Date: June 20-24 Time: 9am 12pm Come to 4H Clover Bud Camp. Engage in fun garden activities and learn about bugs and so much more! Plan to get a little dirty and have lots of fun. Age: 5-8 Cost: $50 Betsy Jeff Penn Residential Camp Date: June 26-July 1 Age: 8 14 Cost: $420 (Trad. camper age 8-10 or Adventurer age 11-12) Come and join us for 4-H Residential Camp at Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Educational Center. Located in Reidsville, NC, the campers participate in canoeing, horseback riding, archery, rock wall climbing, arts & crafts and hiking. Total cost of camp includes transportation, food, lodging, camp store and activities. It s an experience of a lifetime!! Cost: $440 (Trekker age 13-14) Bob Ross Oil Painting Date: June 28 Age: 9-15 Cost: $50 Come go with Durham County 4-H to the magical world of happy trees. Learn step by step how to create a wonderful work of art using Bob Ross trademark techniques and you to can experience The Joy of Painting. Sew Into It (Beginning Sewing) Date: July 11 15 Age: 9-14 (must be 9 on Jan. 1, 2016) Cost: $120 Throughout the world sewing clubs & classes are becoming more popular. With Beginning Sewing 4-H camp, campers will learn step by step, slow & steady, to build their foundation of sewing expertise in 4-H we call that Learn by doing. A working sewing machine with manual is required. Don t have one, just tell us and we ll have one for you!
Adventures in Babysitting Camp (CPR/First Aid) Date: July 18-22 Time: 9am 3pm Age: 11-15 (Rising 6th grade and up) Cost: $100 Date: July 25-29 Sew Stylish (Intermediate Sewing) Age: 9 15 (must be 9 on Jan. 1, 2016) Cost: $120 This camp is designed for rising 6th graders (at least 11 years old) and older. Campers will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to care for children and infants. In this camp, participants will develop leadership skills, learn how to keep themselves and others safe and learn basic childcare. Campers who successfully complete this course will receive Adult, Child and Infant CPR & First Aid certification valid for two years as well as a Babysitter s Training certification. Polish the skills you learned from the beginners camp. This is an intermediate class for people who have taken a beginning sewing class or have equivalent sewing experience. Date: Aug. 1-5 Age: 12-15 Cost: $100 Farm 2 Fork Tour the area s small farms and see the wealth of our local resources. The second half of the day will be a hands-on cooking demonstration spotlighting a local product in a delicious recipe. Computer Boot Camp Date: Aug. 8-12 Age: 12-15 Learn how to write computer programs, design websites and build computers. On the last day, campers will take home a computer. Cost: $100
