About BEST BEST, Board of European Students of Technology, is a constantly growing non-profit and non-political organisation. Since 1989 we provide communication, co-operation and exchange possibilities for students all over Europe. 95 Local BEST Groups (LBGs) in 33 countries are creating a growing, well organised, powerful, young and innovative student network. BEST strives to help European students of technology to become more internationally minded, by reaching a better understanding of European cultures and developing capacities to work on an international basis. Therefore, we create opportunities for the students to meet and learn from one another through our academic and non-academic events and educational symposia. "Learning makes the master", but the final goal is a good working place, therefore we offer services like an international career centre to broaden the horizons for the choice on the job market. Our priority is to offer high quality services for students all over Europe. Thus, we manage to bring all the partners in the "student - company - university" triangle closer. About EBEC Challenge EBEC is the BEST Engineering Competition in Europe, conducted by students for students. Teams that are composed by 4 students from technology fields, regardless of status of their degree, are challenged to solve the tasks that are provided by BEST in 2 different competition levels. The team which proves to be the most efficient, creative and successful at the end of competition is the winner. EBEC Challenge project consists in two rounds: Local Round: Where the BEST teams of every university are selected. National/Regional Round, where those teams face each other.

About National & Regional Round (NRR) Spain Congratulations, you already passed your local round. As you know, EBEC Challenge is a huge project. To make you an idea of how many students compete each year, just try to find your local BEST group here. In those local rounds, some teams were successful meanwhile others failed. You are between those hundreds of people that succeeded. Don t you have a small butterfly in your guts? To make you feel even better, just look at this. Working in parallel with us, other 14 NRR are also going on, working in a common project:

What to bring ID card Laptop/Tablet: Highly recommended to bring your own ones. During the competition you will only be able to use 2 of them simultaneously. Bring also a Pen drive per team for the presentation deliveries. You will find hygiene stuff in the hostel. However, we encourage you to bring your own stuff. Remember flip flops for shower ;). Comfortable clothes. You will be working the whole weekend, better if you are not suffering during the competition. Fancy clothes for the Official Closing ceremony. Money for extra transportation and leisure. We provide transport ONLY for the competition. Extra metro trips depend of you. Also, for social activities in case you want extra food, drinks, souvenirs, etc. Lot of BEST spirit for the weekend. You won t be only working, you will meet new friends from other universities of Spain, take the chance and enjoy the event! Basic Info Don t forget to join us : Facebook: Remember to follow @EBECSpain if you are not doing it already. Some important Information will be posted there to make things easier for you. WhatsApp Group : https://chat.whatsapp.com/gvypmvnca5qaushpr6qfve (Click to join) We will use What s app but as you may know, in a group with a lot of people is quite easy to lose information. Please check your Email and Facebook often. Hostel La Posada de Huertas Calle Huertas 21, 28014 Madrid Phone: +34 91 429 55 26 Metro Station: Antón Martín Line 1 ( Light blue one) The closest and most useful alternative is Sol station within an 8 minutes walking, where you can take 3 lines of metro and another 2 of Cercanías trains. Participants are expected to be there 3 nights. (breakfast is included) Check in: Friday, 20th th of March Check out: Monday, 23th th of March

How to arrive to the Hostel From the airport to the accommodation: Take the metro in the airport, line 8 (pink one) to Nuevos Ministerios (5 stops). In Nuevos Ministerios change to line number 10 (navy blue one) to Tribunal station and there just take Line 1 (Light blue one) to Antón Martín. Metro is easiest way to reach the hostel from the airport. From Airport to Atocha Station: You can choose between Cercanías train (about 3 euros) or Airport Bus (Yellow one (5 euro)), both of them will bring you to Atocha. Bus works 24h, but Cercanías doesn t. Check your options before arriving =). From train station Atocha to the accommodation: It s less than 20 minutes walking to the hostel through Atocha street to get to Anton Martín square. Alternatively, you can take buses 6, 26 or 32 to get there, or the metro line 1 to Antón Martín. Remember, google maps is your friend.

From the bus station Méndez Álvaro to the accommodation: Take the metro in the bus station, line 6 (grey one) to Legazpi (2 stops). There change to line 3 (yellow one) to Sol. From Metro Station Sol to the accommodation: Look to the main building in Puerta del Sol, and then go straight through its left street. Then in Plaza Jacinto Benavente turn left.

Schedule This is the last version available. Be aware, EBEC team is currently working in the details, so it might change. During the competition you will find the last version in the back part of your nametag.
