Itinerary Day One June 23, 2017 Arrive in Calgary. Lodging: Delta Chelsea South, Calgary, Alberta Your Canadian Rockies and Glacier National Park tour begins this evening at Delta Chelsea Calgary. A transfer is included from Calgary Airport to Delta Chelsea. Meet your tour host Janice, and travel companions tonight at a private, after-hours welcome reception and dinner. Snacks will be provided at the train station then enjoy a feast in the world s only Log Opera House. (Dinner) Day Two June 24, 2017 Glacier National Park and International Peace Park. Lodging: St. Mary s Lodge, St. Mary s, Montana Kick off your Canadian Rockies and Glacier National Park tour by traveling south to Canada s Waterton Lakes National Park, where the prairie abruptly hits the mountains. En-route, visit Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, a prehistoric site used continuously by First Nations peoples for over 5,500 years, and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and interpretive center. After enjoying the town of Waterton Park and the beautiful lake we will cross the border to our stay for the next two nights at St. Mary s Lodge, which is at the entrance to Glacier National Park. In 1932 Glacier National Park was joined with Waterton Lakes to form the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park a world first; it s now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve, where you might see grizzly or black bears. Day Three June 25, 2017, Going to the Sun Road aboard vintage red buses Lodging: St. Mary s Lodge, St. Mary s, Montana In Glacier National Park we will tour the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road aboard a restored 1930 s vintage red touring bus. The road, a 50 mile long engineering marvel, skirts the shore of St. Mary s Lake, and crosses the Continental Divide at Logan Pass. View many of the Parks mountains and glaciers as we enjoy one of our nations most beautiful Parks! (Breakfast & Dinner) Day Four June 26, 2017, Banff National Parks Lodging: Lodge at Kananaskis Concluding our Glacier National Park tour we head back north across the border to Banff National Park. Along the way we will visit the little town of Canmore before checking into the Lodge at Kananaskis. This lodge is perfectly nestled in the heart of the Rockies! (Breakfast & Dinner) Day Five June 27, 2017 The Icefields Parkway and Jasper National Park Lodging: Sawridge Inn, Jasper, Alberta Today we depart Banff for a drive along the spectacular Icefields Parkway. Famous for the views - we will encounter waterfalls, mountains, glaciers, and snowfields around every turn. View Athabasca Glacier on the Columbia Icefield, the largest icecap in the Canadian Rockies, then take a memorable ride across the glaciers surface on an Ice Explorer, a specially designed vehicle, and even fill your water bottle with the purest water in the world! Tonight we will check into the Sawridge Inn, in Jasper, for a two night visit. (Breakfast & Dinner)
Day Six June 28, 2017 Lake Maligne, Spirit Island and downtown Jasper Lodging: Sawridge Inn, Jasper, Alberta Today our local guide will show us Maligne Canyon, then cruise us on Maligne Lake, famed for the color of its water, the surrounding peaks, the three glaciers visible from the lake and Spirit Island, one of the most photographed locations in the world. A little late afternoon shopping time is in order in historic Jasper. (Breakfast & Dinner) Day Seven June 29, 2017 Patricia Lake, Athabasca Falls, Lake Louise Tea, Banff National Park. Lodging: Delta Royal Canadian Lodge, Banff, Alberta Today we will travel down the Icefield Parkway stopping to enjoy waterfalls, wildlife and enjoy the beauty of the Canadian Rockies. Lunch today will be a high tea at the famous Fairmont Lake Louise. Time will be given to roam the lake and see the shops. This evening we check into the Delta Chelsea Royal Canadian Lodge for a two night stay. (Breakfast & Lunch)
Day Eight June 30, 2017 Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain and the town of Banff This afternoon we will tour Banff National Park. This evening we will take a gondola ride up the mountain for the best view in Banff and enjoy a beautiful view as we indulge in our farewell dinner from the top.
