Cabin accommodation on board is superbly appointed, with air conditioning, private en-suite facilities with a shower, wc and washbasin and includes towels and toiletries. Both the Christmas Cruise and New Year Cruise will have big parties on board to help you celebrate the festive season in style. By day, relax and enjoy your free time ashore and by evening, enjoy music in the Le Fastnet Piano Bar or dance the night away in the fabulous Le Grand Pavoir main lounge bar. On our Christmas Cruise you will enjoy a leisurely sailing along the English Channel and the Dover Straits, then crossing to Antwerp in Belgium, making our way up the River Scheldt towards the berth situated in the heart of Antwerp. As you exit the terminal you immediately find yourself in the heart of the city and its sprawling Christmas Fair and market creating an amazing festive atmosphere. For our New Year Cruise, we again sail across the English Channel before making our way past Le Havre, into the Seine Estuary, and on to the berth on the edge of the wonderful city of Honfleur. Shuttle buses will transport you to the centre of Honfleur, plus there will be a chance to book, at extra cost, an excursion to Rouen on the 31st. And then it s back on board to welcome in the New Year. All ages are catered for, with a children s play area on deck 7 and the dedicated teenager Games Planet on deck 9. If you fancy some shopping, there are well known high street cosmetic brands, perfumes and many other gifts to choose from, or if you want to stock up on your wine, there s even a carry to car service. So if you are young or old, there s plenty to get you into the party spirit and celebrate either Christmas or New Year in style.
Cruise to Antwerp this Christmas Your Christmas itinerary Day 1 - Monday 24th December Check-in at Portsmouth from 15:00hrs (3:00pm) for the early evening departure of Pont-Aven to Antwerp at 18:00hrs (6:00pm). You ll have plenty of time to settle in to your cabin before enjoying a meal on board and sampling some of the facilities and entertainment in a choice of bars. Day 2 - Tuesday 25th December Merry Christmas! The morning is spent opening presents with the possibility of a late visit from Santa as we cruise our way up the River Scheldt and on to Antwerp s cruise terminal for approximately 14:00hrs (2:00pm.) At lunchtime a Gala Festive meal will be served in the main Le Flora Restaurant. This is always very popular so you will need to pre-book one of the 2 sittings available. After lunch you can go ashore and join-in the celebrations in the market and fair or remain on board where there will be a full programme of Christmas entertainment. Day 3 - Wednesday 26th December Today you have the opportunity to explore, maybe visit the breathtaking Cathedral of Our Lady or explore the labyrinth of medieval streets and hidden squares. Alternatively you can join our optional excursion by coach to the impressive city of Bruges. No matter what, there will be plenty to see and do and an opportunity to enjoy either of these amazing Belgian cities and all they have to offer. Once again the Christmas Fair and market will be in full swing during the afternoon and evening prior to our bidding farewell when we start our journey home at approximately 21:00hrs (9:00pm.) But the festivities haven t finished yet as there is plenty of time to dine and party the night away back on board. Day 4 Thursday 27th December Rise at your leisure to enjoy the remainder of the cruise back to Portsmouth, plus there s time to take advantage of some of the great on board offers with a bit of last minute shopping. We arrive back in Portsmouth at approximately 15:00hrs (3:00pm) after what will surely have been a great 3 day Christmas celebration. IMPORTANT: Unfortunately because of the differing tax laws between our registered ports and Belgium we are not permitted to sell alcohol or tobacco products from our boutiques at any time during our Christmas cruise but the sale of perfume and other goods will still be available. Antwerp and the Christmas Fair With over 100 market stalls, the atmosphere in Antwerp is very festive. You can enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or a glass of glühwein, taste some Belgian waffles and smoutebollen, or even go ice skating. Children are catered for too so there is plenty to do for everyone including a Ferris Wheel and some children s rides. There are many other family friendly activities in the city to keep you entertained during the day as well such as the zoo, aquarium and museums. Antwerp is the home of Rubens, the world diamond centre, plus it also provides some of the best shopping in Belgium. Add the warm Christmas atmosphere and mix it with a beautiful historical setting and you cannot go wrong when visiting Antwerp in December.
Cruise to Honfleur this New Year Your New Year itinerary Day 1 - Saturday 29th December Check-in at Portsmouth from 16:00hrs (4:00pm) for the early evening departure of Pont-Aven to Honfleur at 19:00hrs (7:00pm). You ll have plenty of time to settle in to your cabin before enjoying a meal on board and sampling some of the facilities and entertainment in a choice of bars. Day 2 - Sunday 30th December This morning we will arrive in Honfleur, situated at the mouth of the Seine estuary at approximately 10:00hrs. There will be time to go ashore either stretching your legs or taking the free shuttle bus the short distance to the centre of this beautiful city. The Vieux-Bassin (old harbor), is lined with 16th- 18th century townhouses and has been a subject for many famous artists including Claude Monet. There are plenty of restaurants and cafés along the waterfront or narrow streets to explore. Then it s back on board for another great evening. Day 3 - Monday 31st December New Year s Eve Today you are at leisure on board or free to visit Honfleur as you wish. Alternatively you can join the optional pre-booked excursion to Rouen, the historic capital of Normandy. This medieval city was one of the largest and most prosperous cities of medieval Europe and is where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake in 1431. The Cathedral of Notre Dame dates back to the 13th century and was the subject of a series of painting by Claude Monet the great impressionist painter. Rouen also boasts a good shopping centre with many bars and restaurants. Although the ship does not depart Honfleur until the early hours, all embarkation controls close early evening and then the fun starts! A five course Gala Dinner is available in the ships main Le Flora restaurant. This is always very popular so you will need to pre-book one of the 2 sittings available and then it s the big party where we celebrate the New Year twice Pont Aven is a French ship and French crew so we see the New Year in both at French time and then all-over again an hour later at UK time and well into the early hours. Day 4 Tuesday 1st January New Year s Day Rise at leisure to enjoy the remainder of the cruise back to Portsmouth, plus there s time to take advantage of some of the great on board offers with a bit of last minute shopping the ship will deliver larger purchases directly to your car if parked on board. We arrive back in Portsmouth at approximately 14:00hrs (2:00pm) after what will surely have been a great 3 day New Year celebration. Honfleur and New Year Long a favourite with painters such as Monet and Boudin, Honfleur exudes charm. The small harbour, or Vieux-Bassin, lined with half-timbered houses, which in turn lead to narrow cobbled alleys add to the history of the place. It s claim to fame is the church of Sainte Catherine, the largest surviving wooden church in France. Honfleur provides a perfect backdrop for your New Year celebrations with plenty of shops, art galleries and brocantes (antiques), plus a wealth of cafés, bars and restaurants around the harbour.

We also offer a choice of bars - Le Grand Pavois, is the largest main bar and live entertainment venue, where we serve a range of cocktails as well as beers and wines, hot and cold drinks plus snacks and has a real cruise ship feel. Our piano bar Le Fastnet is a stylish cocktail bar, and a perfect place for an aperitif or a post-dinner digestif and the relaxed mood is enhanced by the pianist.
