Packet Introduction: This packet is intended to be a guide for you to prepare for our mission to Trujillo. Passport PLEASE make sure your passport does not expire in 2012 Please make 4 black and white copies of your passport 2 Copies will travel to Peru (1 in carry-on and 1 in checked luggage) 1 Copy will stay at home 1 copy will stay at church Travel Plan to Peru: General: Please arrive at JFK Airport at 7:00pm and gather in the lobby of. You are responsible to get dropped off and picked up from the airport. Our flight leaves New York at 10:15pm. We will arrive in at 6:10am (on ). We will have quite a lengthly layover (8 hours), so plan accordingly. Our flight from to Trujillo leaves at 3:40pm and we will arrive in Trujillo at 4:50pm. We will collect our baggage and meet the Inca Link staff at the airport. Carry On: Please use your school book bag to bring with you on the plane. We suggest that you do not bring any liquids with you on the plane at all. If you feel that you must, please follow the 3-1-1 guideline (see image below). Bible and other books ipods, ipads, Laptops, kindles, (Bring at your own risk). Packing List General: You may bring one bag that weighs 50lbs or less. Do not bring clothing that is too tight, too small, or form-fitting in any way (nothing should hug your body). Do not bring pants that are low-cut. You should be able to bend over and touch your toes without showing any skin in the back and raise your hands all the way above your head and not show your stomach. Do not bring clothes with holes, rips, or tears. No flashy clothes or jewelry. Do not bring clothes with American logos and advertisements. Please keep in mind, that if you are led, leaving or donating these clothes to the community is not uncommon. Church attire: Pants / Skirts (NO SHORTS!), Dress shoes (NO Flip Flops, sneakers or boots), Shirt with a collar or blouse. Construction attire: Pants / Shorts, T-shirts, strong shoes, sneakers or boots VBS attire: Same as construction Ladies: Most of the clothing needed will be for construction, so be sure to bring clothing that can get dirty. Jeans: with no holes that aren t too tight Shorts: at or below the knee that are not too tight Skirts: that are loose that go below knee cap T-Shirts not form fitting not too short (No Midriffs please). You can wear short sleeves, but they must cover the shoulders and upper arms. No caps sleeves or sleeveless shirts of any kind. Shirts should not have scoop necks or low v-necks. Shorts aren t allowed to be worn at church. Pants or skirts are acceptable. Bathing Suit: Only one piece or tankini allowed! Guys:
Most of the clothing needed will be for construction, so be sure to bring clothes that can get dirty. Jeans, pants, or shorts to the knee. Work shirts or T-shirts (no tank tops or sleeveless shirts) Pants must be worn to church-no shorts. Bathing Suit: No Speedos WHAT TO PACK? Clothes Remember that you can wear clothing MORE THAN ONCE. Be sure to pack lightly, as you will have to pack supplies in your suitcases as well. 3 pairs of work pants 3 pairs of shorts 2 church outfits (refer to guidelines listed above) Sweatshirts or light jackets for evenings Work shoes: strong, durable shoes that can withstand construction conditions. (Boots highly recommended) Underwear and socks 1 pair flat dress shoes, shower shoes Pajamas - Nothing revealing - shorts must be to the knee, no tank tops. One bathing suit Toiletries Soap, shampoo, razor, shaving cream, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste Brush or comb, ponytail holders, small mirror Extra glasses, extra contact lenses, cleaning solution, sun glasses Strong sunscreen BUG SPRAY OR REPELLENT Other Bible, notebook, pens Reusable water bottle 2 Copies of your passport (1 in carry on, 1 in checked bag) Passport Between $75-$150 CASH MONEY (clean money (no rips or markings), smaller bills preferred) FLEXIBLE attitude Electronics (ipod, ipad, Cell Phones, Laptop)- for entertainment purposes for the plane, airport.
