Any additional comments? Answers: 128 answered question 128 skipped question 95 Instead of acquiring new land for parks pleas keep the existing parks in good working condition. The parks are important & good the way they are. Thanks. Note regarding question # 11 - "put into parks we already have please!" 10/3/2011 1:31 PM I noticed that this camp (Camp David Jr.) doesn't seem very handicapped accessible. 10/3/2011 1:28 PM Love Camp David Jr. 10/3/2011 1:26 PM Better walking facilities for people who have disabilities 10/3/2011 1:24 PM Please keep them open at all costs. Outdoor recreation defines our County. 10/3/2011 1:13 PM If it isn't broke don't fix it 10/3/2011 1:10 PM Related to Question # 11, the respondent wrote they would not like to see additional park lands acquired in the Diamond Point area "due to the road not needing more RV's & cars on it". 10/3/2011 12:57 AM

Keep them open! No cut backs! 10/3/2011 11:24 AM Keep open space natural 10/3/2011 11:22 AM Number one improvement is to STOP "hunting" at Dungeness Rec Area! 10/1/2011 2:13 PM Add utilities at Dungeness and Salt Creek; acquire more land and/or campgrounds 10/1/2011 11:15 AM Give volunteers free camping in county parks much like Olympic Natl Park does. 9/27/2011 1:46 PM take better advantage of our position on the flyway like blinds and viewing platforms and info about which birds have arrived (Twitter) 9/24/2011 12:10 AM Number one: Give Dungeness Recreation Area back to the public at large. Stop the hunting. Forever. 9/21/2011 11:51 AM Ban all hunting 9/20/2011 1:33 AM Do not make any more campsites reservable. 9/19/2011 3:10 PM Parks are a gift and a blessing to the public, who otherwise would be banned from private property holdings on those same lands. Continue in these thin economic times to fund and run the parks for the sake of the public... 9/19/2011 3:06 PM Keep the parks open! Please! 9/19/2011 3:00 PM I love our parks. The more outdoor opportunities the better. 9/19/2011 2:49 PM Send a newsletter to residents, advising them of the facilities available, rates and use options & keep them open. 9/19/2011 2:46 PM We love the parks. Keep them open & available. Much appreciated 9/19/2011 2:40 PM Need park ranger at camp location on duty during day. 9/19/2011 2:38 PM I would like to see existing parks and facilities remain funded & open. Then I would support additional park land acquisition. Keep existing parks & facilities open for use, our family uses Camp David Jr. 2 times each year and knows of many other community groups which benefit from this camp/lodge space. Outdoor recreation is crucial for all ages to experience. Please continue making it possible to obtain easy access. I support my taxes going towards park lands and helping to keep it affordable for lower income community members. Thank you to all who work towards this. 9/19/2011 2:37 PM We love being Camp David! Been coming as a family for over 35 year. We would be willing to pay higher rates to keep it open. 9/19/2011 2:32 PM

I would pay more if it would guarantee future access. Keep up the great work! I visit Camp David Jr. twice each year and hope to come back yearly for many more years! 9/19/2011 2:28 PM More garbage cans (Camp David Jr.) 9/19/2011 2:25 PM As non-residents we shouldn't really have a voice. We are only familiar with Dungeness which we love. The only improvement we would want would be more control over dog owners - we have found dog feces in campsites several times over the years. We would also appreciate a pre-registration/reservation process that was more interactive (but we really like your website campsite pictures!). Refurbished restrooms at Dungeness are excellent! 9/14/2011 2:53 PM I mentioned it before but recycling services for cardboard and glass and pop cans would be great. Emphatic yes on question # 11. Thanks so much!! 9/14/2011 2:27 PM More campsites on beach 9/14/2011 2:22 PM More info on the plants & trees. Info - map of area that we are looking @ across into Canada - yes Victoria - but what towns are those on W. Van. Island? (Salt Creek) Lovely 9/14/2011 2:20 PM Improved pre-registration system - reservations should be available online and by phone. Current 14 day registration is inadequate. (Salt Creek) Camp host is exceptionally knowledgeable, helpful, & friendly. Thank you for providing such a beautiful park. 9/14/2011 2:15 PM Parks that are easier to access and less remote would be beneficial for people who don't want to drive really far to enjoy it. 9/13/2011 2:11 PM More organized sports clinics/teams 9/13/2011 1:14 PM The (Dungeness Recreation Area) camp host, loop #2, was friendly & took care of our concerns! Very well done. Thanks also to the ranger! The camp host & ranger were great! 9/12/2011 3:28 PM Not familiar with Clallam County. 9/12/2011 3:26 PM NO DISC GOLF COURSE OR SHOOTING RANGE SHOULD BE ALLOWED IN ANY CLALLAM COUNTY PARK! These serve a limited interest group of patrons, while virtually excluding use by the majority of Clallam County residents. 9/9/2011 3:11 PM Need to have cabins 9/7/2011 1:21 PM More stuff available for sports like balls, horseshoes, equipment... 9/7/2011 1:16 PM Salt Creek - Need to mark trails to Striped Peak! Provide map of roads & trails to Striped Peak Recreation Area! Very frustrating to find trails! 9/6/2011 10:30 AM

2 of my favorite parks are Dungeness Spit & Salt Creek. I love the trails, nature viewing & camping. Keep up the good work! 9/6/2011 10:27 AM Avoid duplication with other Govs (Fed. State, City). Sell unused property before acquiring more. 8/29/2011 3:06 PM Keep the ones we have in good working condition. Upkeep is key - instead of acquisition 8/25/2011 12:01 AM Its great! (Salt Creek Rec. Area) Picnic table on site # 71 unusable - very disappointing it was bent from tree falling on it - affected our stay 8/22/2011 2:59 PM The reservation system is an unwelcome change. We prefer first come, first serve - at least more of these sites. Please fix toilet in Ladies Room. 8/22/2011 2:55 PM camping reservation site at salt creek should be odd or even numbers 8/18/2011 7:41 PM Salt Creek: Recommend separate area for tenters. People with tents should be charged less for sites - no use of power or water hookup. 8/15/2011 9:47 AM More ADA campsites or trails 8/15/2011 9:45 AM Prohibit dogs in Dungeness Rec Area. People let the leashes out on their dogs so the dogs can chase the deer. Some people come to a wildlife rec area to watch wildlife, not to watch people parade around with their dogs! Prohibit wildlife harassment. 8/9/2011 9:03 AM All good 8/8/2011 10:43 AM Dungeness park manager needs friendlier attitude 8/8/2011 10:42 AM Love what is available for families 8/8/2011 10:17 AM When possible, hot water & showers 8/8/2011 10:15 AM I have been a part of Camp David Jr. for over 10 years. Camp David Jr. has been an amazing place to host camps. I love it and many many others do. 8/8/2011 10:12 AM I've been at camp for 8 years and it is something I look forward to every year. I have had some of my best memories here. 8/8/2011 10:07 AM Drop ball fields & focus on Camp David Jr., Sol Duc, natural areas 8/8/2011 10:05 AM Keep up the good work. Expand. 8/8/2011 10:03 AM Keep they system strong 8/8/2011 10:01 AM

Do not increase user fees to a level that families cannot afford to pay 8/8/2011 9:59 AM Youth music camps are very important to the youth or our country. Also very important to healthy growth & outlook of the young and the volunteers that run them. 8/8/2011 9:54 AM Its' completely adequate. We like Camp David! 8/8/2011 9:51 AM If additional funding is available it should be used to keep existing facilities open. 8/8/2011 9:49 AM At this time the Park needs to hold tight. Not acquire anymore lands or put in new facilities. Maintain what you have! We love Camp David Jr. 8/8/2011 9:47 AM Camp David Jr. is perfect for our needs. It's very well managed by the park ranger - and beautiful! 8/8/2011 9:45 AM No more special interest sports facilities. Keep Camp David as is! 8/8/2011 9:43 AM Start by adding naturalist, cultural workshops slowly & see how the community supports 8/8/2011 9:37 AM Keep Camp David Jr. open 8/8/2011 9:34 AM This is an awesome camp. I've been here for 2 years and it teaches the kids a lot. It s also a ton of fun. 8/8/2011 9:32 AM Camp David Jr. has been one of my whole family and friends favorite place to come and stay, and I hope that we will always have it as a place to have fun. 8/8/2011 9:29 AM I have used the Camp David Jr. facility for 14 years. It is a significant part of my life and one of the most important places I have ever had the opportunity to experience. 8/8/2011 9:26 AM Camp David Jr. is an amazing facility. It offers many opportunities to experience the natural park. I love Camp David Jr.!!! 8/8/2011 9:23 AM Online reservations 8/8/2011 9:03 AM Move bunkers 8/8/2011 9:01 AM Think more about local residents. This is our home, less reserved campsites. First come first serve. I don't care about Bill Gates who reserved campsite 12 months ago and takes away from my family. 8/8/2011 8:59 AM Restroom near playground area!! Too far for little ones or grandparents to walk! 8/8/2011 8:53 AM Reservation - also reduce speed limit 8/8/2011 8:51 AM

Add more campgrounds 8/1/2011 4:50 PM Make sure we know more about them. Programs help people learn what's available & take time to watch & listen to the world around us. When adding more campsites privacy is important - don't just pack in more sites. 8/1/2011 4:44 PM It would be nice to be able to have wine or beer while your camping 8/1/2011 4:39 PM We love all parks, county and otherwise. It can be a little difficult to plan camping trips because of the limited availability of camping sites. 7/29/2011 6:45 PM The Discovery Trail is awesome. I hope the extensions get finished. 7/29/2011 4:57 PM disc golf and more youth/young adult activities 7/29/2011 7:17 AM A Disc Golf Course! 7/26/2011 8:20 PM I'd love to see Disc Golf come on board. We were so excited about the proposed course and it seemed to die. :( 7/26/2011 5:12 PM Have a Parks and Rec in Clallam County Win Win, provide jobs and things to do for our community. 7/26/2011 2:39 PM Online reservation system 7/26/2011 11:04 AM I am the house husband and home school teacher for my two young sons. There is very little for young families to do in this area. I believe the demographics of the area are changing and there should be more support for, and acceptance of, park use activities accordingly designed. Disc Golf, water play areas, sports fields, activity centers, and the like are all welcome, and I feel, necessary. All of the families with which we have social contact feel the same frustration we do: The county elite seem reluctant to recognize that we are here to stay. A community pool that did not treat the under 55 crowd like third class unmentionables, nor charge more than is reasonable or realistic, would be great as well. Only in Sequim will you find "Adult Only" hours for the KID POOL at some of the most convenient times for those of us with young children to actually attend. 7/25/2011 6:38 PM Add a Disc Golf Course 7/22/2011 4:21 PM Have on-line registration for camping. 7/20/2011 7:55 AM I wasn't aware of some of the parks listed. I've been here 20 years and know many of the facilities, but better outreach to user groups might be a good idea. 7/18/2011 4:15 PM We very much enjoyed our visit (*DRA - Park note) 7/13/2011 10:53 AM

We love Dungeness Rec Area!!! 7/13/2011 10:46 AM 1st time here (*DRA - Parks Note) fantastic recommend to friends. Sites could use some fill in areas for better & comfortable tenting. 7/13/2011 10:45 AM Excellent park! Wonderful facility. Best around (better than Oly. National Parks for clean facilities!) 7/13/2011 10:42 AM Patrol the speeding in the campgrounds. 7/13/2011 10:38 AM More available campsites like those at Clallam County Dungeness/ we love the large, more private sites - the facilities are excellent and well maintained. Thank you! 7/13/2011 10:34 AM Recycling 7/13/2011 10:29 AM Fire rings @ Dungeness should be replaced with lower rings with no holes. WHERE IS THE RECYCLING - shame on you! 7/13/2011 10:28 AM Replace rocks in play area @ Dungeness Rec. Area with bark ASAP 7/13/2011 10:26 AM Do not understand why we are charged extra for extra vehicles if there is no impact on the road or campground. 7/13/2011 10:21 AM The Clallam Co. Campground @ Dungeness is a very well maintained facility - very clean restrooms, nice sized camp spaces and a great campground host! 7/11/2011 4:32 PM
