P a g e 5 Day 1: Overnight Travel Day 2: Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge, Lake Manyara National Park Lake Manyara National Park With the Lake on its east and the Manyara Escarpment to its west, the Lake Manyara National Park offers breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats supporting an array of wildlife. The landscape features acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps and the lake itself. Manyara has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world and the lions here are also renowned for their tree climbing. Arusha - Lake Manyara National Park On arrival at Airport, you will be met by our representative and light refreshments will be served and you will be thereafter transferred to Arusha. After lunch you will depart Arusha passing through the Masai Steppe filled with many picturesque African villages as well as maize, coffee and banana plantations. At the town of Makuyuni you will turn North West and continue the journey up through a scenic escarpment that brings you to your lodge, perched on the edge of the Rift Valley with stunning views over the distant Lake Manyara. Overnight: Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge is nestled on the rim of the Great African Rift Valley with stunning views of Lake Manyara, Mount Meru and on a clear day, Mount Kilimanjaro. The lodge is situated in lush green gardens and local vegetation with over 130 species of bird. It offers an ideal place in which to base a northern safari experience. The Ngorongoro Crater, Oldeani, Lake Eyasi, Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Highlands are just a short drive away from the lodge. P a g e 6 Day 3: Serengeti Sopa Lodge, Central Serengeti Central Serengeti Situated in the heart of Tanzania, the Central Serengeti encompasses the world-famous Seronera Valley which is known for its prime wildlife-viewing opportunities. This picture-perfect landscape is characterised by endless stretches of savannah-covered open plains, interspersed by rocky outcrops of granite, scattered with acacia woodlands and covered in a network of rivers and streams. The Central Serengeti forms part of the great wildebeest and zebra migration and provides an ideal habitat for a variety of wildlife such as giraffe, impala, waterbuck, hippo, elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, serval and much more. Popular activities include: game viewing, cultural tours, horse riding safaris, and hot air ballooning over the spectacularly scenic terrain. Lake Manyara National Park - Serengeti National Park After breakfast, you will do a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park than returns to the lodge for lunch. Leaving Lake Manyara behind, the journey continues North West across the stunning hilly countryside of the highlands which is filled with wheat and coffee plantations, and then into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From here lie the vast plains of the Serengeti, where you will hopefully start spotting game well before you get into the park. P a g e 7 Day 4: Serengeti Sopa Lodge, Central Serengeti Serengeti National Park After breakfast, you will do a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park before returning to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, you will continue to explore the surrounding prime wildlife areas before returning to your lodge for the evening. Overnight at Hotel in Seregenti. The image of acacia trees on an endless grass plain epitomises Africa for many, and then add a Masai warrior and some cattle to the picture, and the conversation need go no further. The annual wildebeest migration through the Serengeti and the Masai Mara is the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet with more than a million animals following the rains. But that is not where the game viewing ends; large prides of lions, elephants and giraffes in grasslands, gazelles and eland to mention but a few. Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater After breakfast, you will depart for Ngorongoro with viewing game across the vast Serengeti plains stopping for a picnic lunch. You will continue to your lodge, set high on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. Day 6: Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, Ngorongoro Crater Ngorongoro Crater A highlight awaits you this morning as you depart to explore what is commonly referred to as the World s largest wildlife zoo. After breakfast, you will descend with a picnic lunch through the early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the crater. Ngorongoro Crater is the World s largest intact volcanic caldera. Due to its size and diversity, the crater floor is comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes. It s an awesome wildlife experience. A picnic lunch is served overlooking a small lake populated with hippos. You will return to the lodge in the late afternoon. P a g e 9 Day 7-11: The Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort, Nungwi Nungwi Once little more than a ramshackle fishing village, Nungwi has been transformed into one of Unguja island s busiest beach destinations and its second most populated village after its capital, Stone Town. Situated at the island's northernmost tip, Nungwi is blessed with some of Zanzibar s most idyllic swimming beaches as the water surrounding this section of the island is fairly deep and mostly unaffected by the change of tides. The village is also renowned as a party hotspot with plenty of boisterous nightlife and a thriving social scene hosted by the village s slew of hotels, bars, shops and restaurants. Spend your days lazing on the spectacular beaches, floating in the idyllic turquoise waters or indulging in a massage. Then, as the sun sets, join the revellers as the town comes alive, cocktails flow freely and the beach bonfires begin to blaze. Daily itineraries tend to be gloriously simple: sunbathe, swim, party, repeat! Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha - Zanzibar Departing Ngorongoro Crater after breakfast and head south east en route to Lake Manyara, Mto wa Mbu village and Tarangire beyond. Through the highlands and the Karatu district, you will view the scenic wheat plains and coffee plantations here before journeying down the spectacular escarpment where you will turn north on to the main Arusha Dodoma road and head to Arusha. On arrival in Arusha you will be dropped off at Arusha airport for onward flight to Zanzibar. On arrival in Zanzibar, you will be transferred to your beach hotel, where you will spend the next 5 days at leisure. 5 nights at Beach Hotel in Zanzibar Overnight: The Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort The resort is set in almost 20 acres of paradise located on the North Shores of exotic Zanzibar, just outside the town of Nungwi, an area that enjoys warm and sunny weather almost year round.
