Ordinances that Impact B Residents A B Borough ordinance is a law voted on and approved by B Borough Council. An ordinance creates a better community for B residents. The following ordinances are important to remember as summer months begin. #619 All Borough residents are required to recycle. Recycle stickers are available at the Borough Office to place on garbage bins. We encourage bins rather than recycling with plastic bags. If you are an apartment resident and are not offered recycling, please contact the Borough. #839 #857 56 Brentwood-B-Whitehall Smoking is prohibited in public parks and recreation areas of B Borough This includes baseball, softball, and soccer fields All bulk containers, which includes storage devices, dumpsters, and bagsters must have permit. The bulk container may not be placed on public property, which includes roads and streets. The area around the bulk container must be debris free. Bulk container permits are free. The application is found online or at the Borough Office. #826 The open burning of wood, logs, brush, and/or stumps are only permitted in an approved outdoor rated fireplace or fire pit. The wood must be clean and dry without treatment or unpleasant odor. Burning of waste (building supplies, garbage, grass, leaves) is prohibited. The fire must be more than 15 feet away from the nearest property line. #855 A permit is required before any residential construction or development. You can apply for a permit electronically via the Borough website or in person at the Borough Office. #870 Please contact the Borough office for any questions at 412-882-9600 Parking on lawns or landscaped areas is prohibited.
Colewood Park Beginning in July 2016, an equalization tank will be built at the end of Colewood Park for improved water and sewer management. This 12 to 18 month project will lead into and overlap with updating Colewood Park soccer fields and hiking trails. Phase 1 will consist of updating play structures, constructing two pavilions, developing court games like bocce and corn hole, and upgrading the horseshoe pits. B Community Pool Phase 1 of the B Community Pool is completed. The interior of the locker room building has been updated with new showers, family/ada restrooms, changing areas, lockers, and check-in area. After the pool closes for the 2016 season, phase 2 will redesign the exterior of the pool locker rooms in time for the 2017 season. Information about pool hours, season passes, pool party rentals, and swimming lessons is found by visiting the B Borough pool page at www.bborough.org/162/pool. Borough Building Auditorium The auditorium updates will create a modernized, multipurpose auditorium with improved acoustics and storage space.
