Pendennis Castle Castel Pendynas Journey back through 450 years of history from Tudor times to World War II and discover the wartime secrets of Pendennis Castle. In the restored Royal Artillery Barracks our interactive exhibition will provide the perfect introduction to the history of Pendennis. From here step back in time and experience Cornwall s greatest fortress. NEW EXHIBITION Pendennis Castle is now the home of a selection of wartime cartoons by George Butterworth. The acclaimed cartoons, which appeared daily throughout World War II, lampooned both Hitler and Mussolini, enraging the Nazi leader so much that the cartoonist was put on his hit-list.
