TRAINING AVIATION MAINTENANCE PROFESSIONALS SINCE 1932

WHO WE ARE National Aviation Academy (NAA) has been training aviation maintenance professionals since 1932. NAA is an FAA-approved Title 14 CFR Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technician School offering courses in Aviation Maintenance Technology and Advanced Aircraft Systems. Specialized curriculum focuses on industry standards, hands-on training and continually diversifying technologies in aviation. Hands-on training takes place on campus and at a live airfield so that students can gain practical industry experience. Instructors have years of experience across all maintenance levels, including commercial, military, aerospace and unmanned. Preparation and testing for Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certifications are provided onsite. Career services assistance is provided to all graduates, offering access to some of the most highly-regarded employers in the industry.

STUDENT FINANCE NAA offers financial assistance to students on the basis of financial need, with the goal of making an NAA education affordable for students from all walks of life. Financial aid may cover education expenses including tuition and fees, as well as books and supplies. Many types of aid are available including grants, scholarships and loans. Additionally, eligible veterans may use their GI-Bill or Post-911 benefits. Representatives work with each student on a case-by-case basis to answer questions before, during and after attending NAA. Whether you are attending school for the first time, going back to school, or are a veteran transitioning from the military, our staff is available to help meet your needs. MILITARY BENEFITS Obtaining A&P certifications will allow you to put your military skills and experience to use in a rewarding career in aviation maintenance. We provide the curriculum, hands-on training, structure and support needed for you to harness the skills you have and apply them to the job you want. NAA prides itself on creating an environment where Veterans can invest in themselves and their families through post-military education. Our team members are trained to help you make the most informed separation choices possible. Whatever your separation plan, we understand that you will want to put the same dedication, passion and drive with which you served into the next stage of your life.

CAREER SERVICES The career services department helps current students, recent graduates and alumni find gainful employment in the aviation industry. Resume development, application assistance and interview tips and techniques are areas of focus. Additionally, three career fairs are held each year at both campuses. Companies that attend NAA career fairs include commercial airlines, fixed-base operators and manufacturers, as well as employers from parallel industries. The career services department builds and maintains relationships with industry leaders, many of whom recruit from NAA directly because of the high caliber of graduates. All graduates are eligible for lifetime* career placement assistance to facilitate current and future opportunities. *Lifetime is defined as long as NAA is in operation STUDENT SERVICES The student services department provides resources that support and enhance the educational experience while attending NAA. An extensive set of services have been developed to help you achieve your goals, including housing, transportation and employment assistance. Situations can change, and problems may arise, while you are in school. Sometimes it is easier to face those situations with the help of the student services department. All students are encouraged to use this support system as a resource. Student services has an open door policy, but private sessions can be scheduled in advance.

SECTORS OF AVIATION NAA s specialized training provides the experience and education required to embark on an in-demand career in aviation maintenance. A&P mechanics can work in various sectors of aviation. GENERAL AVIATION The majority of the world s air traffic is categorized as general aviation. It includes all forms of civil aviation, from gliders to powered parachutes to business jet flights. COMMERCIAL AVIATION Commercial aviation is a portion of civil aviation that includes scheduled air transport, for example, the airlines that most people take to go places. These aircraft are hired to transport either passengers or cargo. CORPORATE AVIATION Corporate aviation is the use of aircraft for the transport of passengers or goods for business purposes. MANUFACTURING & MRO Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) is the blanket term used in the industry for all services related to assuring aircraft safety and airworthiness. The production of new, innovative aircraft and/or the MRO of existing aircraft play an essential role in sustaining the world s air fleet. FIXED-BASE OPERATOR Commercial aviation service providers that are located at a single physical location, such as an airport, are considered fixed-base operators (FBO). MILITARY AVIATION Military aviation includes the use of aircraft or other flying machines for the purpose of conducting or enabling military functions. Civilians can work on military aircraft at bases/repair stations. UNMANNED AIRCRAFT More commonly known as drones, these aircraft do not have a human pilot on board and operate with varying degrees of autonomy. They have growing applications in the industry and beyond. PARALLEL INDUSTRIES Non-aviation fields also require the services of A&P mechanics. Roller coasters, mass transit systems, Formula 1 race cars and wind turbines/renewable fuel sources, to name a few, require skilled mechanics. These are only a few of the many sectors of aviation. The industry continues to grow as we rely increasingly on technology in our daily lives. All sectors are in of need highly-skilled, well-trained technicians. NAA is committed to training A&P mechanics to satisfy the demand.

A&P CERTIFICATIONS FROM NAA NAA s courses in Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) and Advanced Aircraft Systems (AAS) provide the experience, education and examination required to become a certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) technician in as little as 14 months. The Airframe rating allows a technician to maintain the structures of an aircraft, while the Powerplant rating includes the engine and all other associated equipment. Obtaining your A&P certifications from NAA is a mark of impeccable training, professionalism and job-worthiness. It is why industry leaders seek out our graduates. DEGREE OPPORTUNITIES NAA has established articulation agreements with local colleges for students who want to pursue educational advancement opportunities. Adding an advanced degree provides the education and skills necessary to enhance opportunities for supervisor and management positions within the field. NAA has articulation agreements with Polk State College and Middlesex Community College for those interested in pursuing an Associate or Bachelor s degree.

CAREER AND INCOME OUTLOOK NAA uses industry standards to meet the needs of the aviation maintenance field. A trusted source for industry forecasts is Boeing s 2017 Pilot & Technician Outlook, which projects a need for nearly more than 2 million new commercial airline pilots and maintenance technicians by 2036, including 648,000 maintenance technicians. Careers in aviation are growing alongside the world s commercial air fleet. Aviation maintenance offers competitive expected earnings. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage of aircraft mechanics was $60,170 in May 2017. The median wage is the wage at which half the workers in an occupation earned more than that amount and half earned less. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $35,960 and the top 10 percent earned more than $87,880. ALUMNI TESTIMONIAL My instructors were knowledgeable about the subjects and able to give me tips and tricks beyond the curriculum to improve my understanding of the material. With their support and the curriculum [at NAA] I was able to, not only get my certifications, but secure employment. MASON HERGES Avionics Technician, Air Wisconsin 2017 AMP GRADUATE
