Since the Great Lakes Area is the host area for next year s FMCA Convention in Indianapolis, there will be no separate GLAMARAMA Area Rally. Here s a note from GLAMA As the summer schedule is drawing to a close most of the GLAMA chapters are making arrangements for their 2017 camping season. Be certain to include on your schedule for July 12-16, 2017 the FMCA summer National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. With The National Convention scheduled within the Great Lakes Area there will not be a separate GLAMA Area Rally (GLAMARAMA) so that your chapter can focus its 2017 volunteering efforts at this important FMCA event. More details will be provided soon, however it is important that your chapter members realize where to be and to think about volunteering in July, 2017. There were some professional event organizers, who told the FMC A they couldn t put together an all-volunteer convention in Indianapolis. This writer was there this writer was one of the volunteers and the FMCA did it! The Great Lakes Area did it! WE DID IT! Membership Applications Send your dues and new membership applications to our Treasurer Bev Nesbitt Ohio Nomads 3719 Cherokee Lima, OH 45807 Email address is bevnesbitt09@gmail.com The new up to date applications will be available at all rallies. Chapter Fun Mini-Quiz! On Page 4 of this issue, there is a photo of a small, peculiar plaque. It s not a fake, but an actual plaque, displayed on an actual building. Where was the photo taken? A. On a building at the Puzzle Museum, Wanaka, New Zealand. B. On a boathouse on Cockburn Island, Ontario, Canada. C. On a small house in Marengo, Ohio. D. On a hostel along the Appalachian Trail, Bentonville, Virginia. The answer will be published in our post-season MICROSCOPE OHIO e- postcard just a little something to look forward to once the camping season ends (by the way, it really is postcard-sized, for regular mailings). Happy Cybercamping! Michael Canode, F13059S, Editor.

President Bill Nesbitt Vice President Peter Czech Secretary Mary Alice Gast Treasurer Beverly Nesbitt National Director Ernie Howard Alt. National Director Billie Czech The first thing I want everyone to remember is the October rally in Nelsonville, Ohio. Sounds like a good way to end the camping season. Bev & I will be there and then heading south on Oct 23 rd. Vice President Pete Czech & I would like any and all input for future rally locations for next year. The only rallies scheduled at this time are the Snomads in Sebring, FL (February 21, 2017) and the FMCA National Rally in Indianapolis, IN (July 6 12, 2017). Submitting an idea for a rally does not mean you must be the host. We will find a host. Please remember the 2017 ($10) dues are due. Please mail to Bev Nesbitt, 3719 Cherokee Dr, Lima, OH 45807. See you down the road! Bill Nesbitt, President Bnesbitt5180@gmail.com Pete Czech. VP Pete.czech99@gmail.com SEPTEMBER Rally REPORT Rallymaster s Report Shipshewana, Indiana Eleven coaches spent 3 or 4 nights at the Shipshewana South Campground. Campers spent their days at the huge flea market, RV surplus shops, and shopping at the many Amish craft shops in the area. A few went to the Menno-Hof Center, learning about the life and history of the Amish and Mennonites. Most had donuts and fruit for the morning breakfasts. Evenings started off with a potluck the first evening and two buffets at local restaurants the other nights. A few people may have gained a pound or two. After the dinners games were played in the nice campground pavilion. One night we played The Newly Wed Game for Oldies. We also played Dub Bridge, Catch Phrase, and card games the other nights. Tom and Mary Lou Berning, Rallymasters
V o l u me 1 7 I s s u e 6 P a g e 3 Publishing Deadline The last 2016 issue of Scope Ohio will be published on or about 1 November 2016 If you have any news items, please have them to the editor by 25 October 2016 Roster Updates If you have an update for the Nomads Roster Book send your changes to Stan Wietholter New Knoxville, Oh 419-778-9230 vt45871@gmail.com GLAMA Update The Great Lakes Area MotorCoach Association (GLAMA) held their area gathering during the FMCA convention in Massachusetts. The following is an excerpt from the meeting report. The 94 th Annual FMCA Family Reunion took place in West Springfield Massachusetts August 3 through 7. If you were unable to attend below is a summary of the major events that affect GLAMA members which I hope you will share with your chapter members. At the GLAMA Annual meeting on Saturday, June 11, 2016: New Business: FMCA 96 th Convention will be held July 12 through 16, 2017 at Indianapolis, Indiana. GLAMA will be the area host of the convention. That being the case there will be no GLAMA rally in 2017. We will not have to fill two major rallies in 2017, especially since the national convention (the name replacing the Family Reunion) will need numerous volunteers at Indianapolis. The next GLAMARAMA Rally which is scheduled for June 6 through 10, 2018 will be held in Allegan, Michigan at the Allegan County Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds are working on upgrades to their electrical grid to insure they can meet the needs of one of the most successful area rallies in FMCA. The plan is to have the 2019 rally there as well since it was the consensus to move the rally site every two years. Also we have received information that work is being done at the Allen County Fairgrounds at Lima, Ohio, which is one of the future sites GLA- MA representatives have visited.
