Built in Sunbury, Ohio by Gerling & Associates, HD1 is a Freightliner M2 Business Class truck and is 41 feet in length. After being shipped to Canada, HD1 spent five months at Azcar in Scarborough being fully wired and integrated before embarking on its maiden production in December of 2009. HD1 boasts a Ross Vision 3 switcher, 6 Sony HDC-1450 cameras, two long lenses and two wide-angle lenses. HD1, being the HD truck in service the longest, has provided coverage for numerous high-profile events for both Rogers TV and Rogers subsidiaries, such as City TV and Sportsnet. Highlights of productions include: City TV and Breakfast Television s Spirit of the Season at the Sheraton 2012 Ontario Tankard in Stratford, Ontario Ontario Hockey League American Hockey League s Toronto Marlies Rogers Jr. National Tennis Championships Ontario Police Memorial The Technical Producer who oversees day-to-day maintenance and upgrades to HD1 is Brian Kay.
