This small, passive, neighborhood park offers a grassy place for children to play games and run around, visitors can enjoy the outdoors, and it s a great place to walk your dog. This park has 2 stone wall benches, the center feature is a sundial, and there s a stone dust pathway through the center of the park. Park Improvements: Significant renovations were done by the Highway Division in 2014. Jules Bisson Park Address: 31 River Street Tax Map/Lot: 3 / 167 Property use: Multi-use Park with specials events, baseball & soccer practice and games Public restrooms: None Park Description: Jules Bisson Park is located at the corner of Indigo Hill and River Street. This neighborhood park contains a fall size basketball court with two hoops, a public ball field, playground equipment, swing set, and a small parking area. The ballfield is used by the Somersworth Little League Organization April-July. The park regularly hosts the annual National Night Out event. Malley Farm Recreational Area Address: 45 Malley Farm Road Tax Map/Lot: 01 / 01 Property use: Softball league games, tournaments, and practices Lease agreements: SBR Girls Softball Association Park Description: The Malley Farm Recreational Area consists of two separate areas located off of Centre Road. One area includes walking trails along the Salmon Falls River. These trails are currently unmarked and are not maintained. The other area includes two softball fields with a large parking are that is used by the SBR Girls Softball Association, both are maintained by the Association. Mast Point Dam Recreation Area Address: 121 Salmon Falls Road Tax Map/Lot: 53 / 1A Property use: Walking trails, hand-carry boat launch, fishing, picnicking Public restrooms: Porto-John May-October Park Description: Mast Point Dam Recreation Area is located off of Salmon Falls Road and offers spectacular views of the Salmon Falls River. This location is tucked away from busy roads and shopping centers making it a particularly peaceful area to enjoy a nice stroll, picnic, or even some fishing. The hand-carry boat launch allows easy access for kayaking and canoeing on the river. The park has 2 picnic areas with beautiful views. Park Improvements: The City was awarded an LWCF grant in 2014 for the redevelopment of this park. Major improvements include a new trail system, improved parking area, hand-carry boat launch, a footbridge, and 2 new picnic areas. The City Public Works Department assisted with this project and helped to complete all of the major improvements. Liberty Mutual held volunteer service days at Mast Point Dam in 2015 and 2016 to help City staff with trail building and maintenance including picnic areas. Timberland held a volunteer service day in 2015 to finish the trail system, they built 6 new picnic tables, 3 benches, and a kayak/canoe rack. Memorial Drive Tennis Courts Address: Memorial Drive (Same lot as the High School & Middle School) Tax/ Map lot: 14 / 43 Property use: 2 tennis courts, parking area, snow storage Park description: These two beautiful courts are located on Memorial Drive across from the Somersworth Middle School. The courts were refurbished years ago and are now open to the public from April to late October, weather permitting. Fred Brown Tennis Courts: Named after Fred Brown who was Mayor of Somersworth before he became Governor of New Hampshire, a post he held from 1923 to 1925. He would go onto serve in the United States Senate 1932-1938. He would also serve as Comptroller General of the United States from 1939 to 1940. He was the only Mayor of Somersworth to become Governor to date and a picture of him hangs permanently displayed in City Council Chambers. Sandra Armstrong Memorial: Originally this memorial was placed at the Pines Playground where two tennis courts could be found. Sandra was an avid tennis player throughout her life and it was felt appropriate on her death at an early age that the tennis courts would be named after her. When the courts were moved to their present location on Memorial Drive, they were renamed to the Fred Brown Courts, but the plaque was placed alongside them. Millennium Park Address: 99 Stackpole Road Lot Size: 8 acres Tax Map/ Lot: 20/ 04 Property use: Multi-use; Little league, softball leagues, Recreation special events, private rentals Lease agreements: Private rentals Public restrooms: Yes Park description: Millennium Park is located on 99 Stackpole Road. The park contains a lighted softball field, a brand new playground and swing set (2017), 2 sand volleyball courts, 2 horseshoe pits, a covered pavilion with picnic tables, 2 charcoal grills, and a park house with 2 newly renovated restrooms. Millennium Park is available for private rentals from April through October. Park Improvements: In 2017, off-site improvements were completed by the Sunningdale Subdivision developer. Improvements include the installation of a new playground and swing set, renovations to the park house restrooms, a trail connecting the park to the adjacent Sunningdale housing development, removal of 6 horseshoe pits and old light posts, improved drainage, and newly painted light posts and bleachers. St Laurent Park Memorial: This Park was known first as Forest Glade Park but would later be renamed after Mayor Romeo St Laurent who served as Somersworth City Mayor for seven years. Noble Pines Park Address: 45 Grand Street Tax Map/ Lot: 13 / 12 Property use: Multi-use Field use agreements: Babe Ruth, Somersworth High School baseball, ROSO soccer club, Cell tower Public restrooms: Yes, in summer camp building & 2 Porto-Johns May-October Park description: Noble Pines Park is located on 45 Grand Street adjacent to Somersworth s Historic District. This park contains a Splash Pad with 6 spray features, a covered pavilion with picnic tables, a full basketball court, a baseball field, two age appropriate playgrounds, a swing set, and a small skate park. Our Rec building houses the Kids Camp and Trends Camp programs during the 8-week summer camp program and this building contains restrooms, a small rec room, and a small kitchen area. The baseball field is maintained in partnership with the Babe Ruth Organization and the High School Baseball program. Park Improvements: The City completed major improvements at this park through the LWCF grant in 2013. Improvements were made by the City Public Works Department to include the installation of the Splash Pad, the Skate Park, and the covered pavilion with picnic tables. Timberland held a volunteer service day in 2015 to make several enhancements that included new benches around the ballfield, painting of the concession stand and deck, installation of hooks and shelves in our Summer Camp building, as well as painting the Summer Camp building and constructing 8 storage benches. Address: Off of Buffumsville Road- along the river Tax Map/ Lot: 03 / 07 Property use: walking trails Public restrooms: None The Riverwalk Park description: The scenic Riverwalk is comprised of a trail that winds along the beautiful Salmon Falls River which offers an ideal location to walk your dog, fish, or exercise. Stein Park Address: 157 Main Street Tax/Map Lot: 10 / 179 Size: portion of lot Property use: Green- space for sitting and Veteran s memorial site. This is also a common parade route. Public restrooms: None Park description: Stein Park is located next to the Summersworth Historical Museum on Main Street. The park is perfect for a family picnic, a nice spot to relax and read, or rest while taking a walk around Somersworth. There is a Veteran s Memorial located in the park as well as park benches. There is also a COAST Bus stop at this location. Stein Park Memorial: Stein Park was originally known as Memorial Park that was until 1971 when the park was renamed to Stein Park. Harry Stein was the founder of the Somersworth Shoe Company in 1936 and this would be a company that would provide steady work for many Somersworth residents throughout the next four decades. USS Somersworth Pocket Park Park Address: 5 Main Street Tax/Map lot: 11 / 210 Property amenities: 3 stone benches, 1 memorial, and water fountain Property use: Park for sitting, USS Somersworth memorial site, and site of City Christmas tree Public restrooms: None Park description: USS Somersworth is a small pocket park tucked into the corner of Market and Main streets, right in the heart of downtown Somersworth. The park includes a small memorial commemorating the crew of USS Somersworth and there are 3 benches for sitting as well. USS Memorial: The Park was created in 1974 as part of a Somersworth Conservation Commission project. In July 2004 it was rededicated as the USS Somersworth Park with the crew of the USS Somersworth present for the dedication. USS Somersworth-Aerial View USS Somersworth-Property Location Map 33

Willand Pond Recreational Area Address: Not numbered- Route 108 to High Street Tax Map/Lot: 43 / 01 Property use: Walking Trails, fitness stations, low elements rope course, fishing, kayaking/canoeing Lease agreement: None- shared property with City of Dover Public restrooms: Porto-Johns May-October Park Description: Willand Pond is located along the northern side of the pond, beginning in Dover and ending in Somersworth. The trail utilizes a number of easements to continue the trail over properties not owned by either Dover or Somersworth. Access is available from Route 108 in Dover or from High Street, behind the location of the new State of NH Liquor Outlet in Somersworth. In addition to the trail system there is also fitness stations located along the trail, a low elements rope course with 6 features, and a picnic area with tables and benches overlooking the pond. There is also signage throughout the park. The trail network was developed with original Somersworth-Dover NH State grant. Park Improvements: There have been many improvements to the Willand Pond Recreational Area over the past few years. David Bracket completed his Eagle Scout project in 2014 with the historic restoration of the Victorian-era bear cage, raised flower garden, and beautiful signs that showcase the park s rich history. Timberland completed a major service project at this park in 2015 to include the installation of 6 low-element ropes course features and several stretching stations along the trail in Somersworth and Dover. Blackwater Basketball Courts Address: 17 Blackwater Road Tax Map/Lot: 22 / 50 Property use: leisure basketball- most of the remaining property is Superfund site, not used for Recreation purposes Park Description: The Blackwater Basketball courts are adjacent to Blackwater Road. The courts can be accessed from both Blackwater and Maple Street. The basketball courts were part of a larger park parcel that has since been decommissioned and most of the old amenities have been removed.
