The wilderness expedition invites you for a lifetime journey to challenge yourself while enjoying world-class hospitality and deluxe comfort. THE HOME OF PURE WILDERNESS Lapland, the region of Northern Finland, Sweden and Norway, is the home of Europe s last wilderness. The area is highly inaccessible due to dense network of free-flowing rivers and crystal clear lakes, extensive swamp areas, majestic Alpine peaks, mighty fjords and thousands of years old forests and glaciers. The demanding, rapidly changing weather conditions will not make the journey trough the wild any easier, making the region largely inhabitable. THE NATURE EQUALS TO YOUR CUISINE For the Nordic people, Lapland s pristine wilderness is the kitchen of Mother Nature and source of superfood. Our cuisine is organic and literally local, usually picked and hunted by our crew. The water in the lakes and rivers, while cleaner than the tap water in most part of the world, is rich in salmon, trout, perch, pike, grayling and whitefish. The swamps and backwoods are the home of various berries high in vitamin, and regarded as superfood, such as blueberry, lingonberry, cloudberry and cranberry. The forests are filled with mushroom and wild herbs. Willow grouse, reindeer, elk, mountain hare and roe deer are typical game in the area. YOUR EXPERIENCE DAY 1 INTO THE WILD On your arrival you will be driven to the border of the wilderness as close as you can get by car. By the Muoniojoki, the river separating Finland and Sweden, the snowcat awaits you refreshments onboard. This tracked vehicle, designed to move on the snow, will push you through the snow blankets to your final destination luxurious hideout in the lap of wilderness, far away from any other sign of civilization. On arrival, 5-course welcome dinner will introduce you to the flavours of Lapland before it s time to relax in the sauna. DAY 2 REACHING THE PEAKS AND CROSSING THE BORDERS Surrounded by thousands of hectares of white landscape, off you go on your snowmobiles into the Arctic wilderness. You are about to spot Golden Eagles floating in the sky, reindeer digging out lichen, and elk wandering in the distance, an Arctic fox disappearing in the snow. With the help of your arctic method of travelling, you ll reach Halti 1365m above the sea level, making in the highest peak of Finland. As you keep on going, hearing nothing but your snowmobile breaking the crust of the snow blankets underneath, you ll arrive to the Three-Country Cairn in the northernmost point of Sweden. After a long day out in the Arctic climate, you ll be pampered by the warmth of sauna, and should you have energy left, break the ice before your dip in the icy water. DAY 3 SURVIVING IN THE ARCTIC As the sun rises, you will be getting on your skiis, the toboggan behind you, equipped to manage out in the wild without your motorized vehicle today. We ll reach a wilderness hut that ll be our base for the day. It s time to get the ingredients for the delicious, fresh dish in the radar. Breaking the ice that separates you from the meal will be your first challenge, as the ice in these latitudes can be a meter thick. YOUR EXPERIENCE As the evening turns into a night, your billion stars accommodation invites you outside; the skies so bright, it s time to lay down on the leanto shelter. Cosy on the reindeer skin by the camp fire, you can watch the sky dancing on the shapes of the Northern Lights, and fall asleep under the starry sky, in the middle of the nature s best selling movie. DAY 4 NEVER ENDING WHITENESS In the morning twilight, the day already calls you for another excursion. During your drive to the Barent s Sea, to the top of Europe, you ll witness the felly landscape dotted with lakes to change into array of mountains and fjords. You ll experience the power of Arctic Ocean, separating Europe from the North Pole. With the snow shoes we ll climb up on the glacier, enjoying the spectacular views over the coast and fjords while learning to move forward on the ice and snow. Back at the hideout your farewell dinner will be calling you for the final taste of Lapland, while the night is wrapping the frozen landscape in blue shadows. DAY 5 THE AIR SO CLEAN While you prepare to say goodbye for your Arctic hideout, there s still time for a walk around the terrain, and discover the footsteps left by the nightly visitors. You may feel relieved to know the brown beer is still hibernating, but are those steps by the porch from a wolf or an arctic fox? Climb up on the roof terrace, enjoy the white-tailed eagle gliding in silence, preparing to catch his pray. You take your last deep breath on the cleanest air in Europe, before starting your journey towards the airport. Once your plane takes off, you know for sure you will not be able to spot your hideout from the air, and start doubting whether it existed after all? But no, it was not your imagination teaching you how to survive in the Arctic. Meanwhile, Lapland will remain quiet about its best-kept secret - the luxurious hideout in the wilderness.
