CHILL WARNING - DAD JOKES FOR FATHER S DAY I ordered a chicken and an egg from Amazon. I ll let you know. What do we want? Low flying aeroplane noises!!! When do we want them? Neeeoooooow!!! A bike in town keeps running me over; it s a vicious cycle! Q. How do you cut the ocean in half? A. With a sea saw Q. Why do some people say diarrhoea is hereditary? A. Because it runs in jeans. Q. What is the difference between the people in Dubai and the people in Abu Dhabi? A. The people in Dubai don t like the Flintstone, but the people in Abu Dhabi doooo! As a ROTARIAN, I will ROTARIAN CODE OF CONDUCT 1. Act with integrity and high ethical standards in my personal and professional life 2. Deal fairly with others and treat them and their occupation with respect 3. Use my professional skills through Rotary to: mentor young people, help those with special needs, and improve people s quality of life in my community and in the world 4. Avoid behaviour that reflects adversely on Rotary or other Rotarians 2

CLUB NEWS: PRESIDENT ROB CHAMBER S DESK WBSLSC: The club have provided our members with important CPR and defibrillator training over the past 2 weeks, so it was with great pleasure I was able to announce our decision to give the WBSLSC a Defibrillator to be located in the upstairs cafe. We have also applied for a District grant to help fund this project. Over the coming weeks we will consult with the WBSSC to determine which model is best suited to their requirements. Nana's Free Food Market: The total amount received from the Semaphore Pk residents is $2,769 and we have agreed to put this toward a new fridge, freezer and soup kettle for Nanas use. We have also applied for a District Grant, which hopefully will double the money and provide Nanas with quality commercial grade appliances. End Polio & Rotary Image Day @ Semaphore Carousel: Planning is progressing and more events are being added. The participants are: The Carousel with reduced prices of $2 to celebrate the 80th anniversary Display of 80-year-old cars End Polio Now CWA catering Rotaract Shelter Box Probus Back Pack 4 SA Kids Birthing Kits Helping Hands Project Toy Boys Kick Start 4 Kids Wheelchair repairs BBQ sausage sizzle and drinks In September we will be looking for volunteers for the roster to staff our booths. The program is scheduled for 11am until 5pm with setup from 7am. I have applied for a District Grant on behalf of the 5 clubs involved. Wine Fundraising: Brian will be bringing samples to the club for tasting. There is a very good range with something for everyone. The winery has set a minimum price for resale, particularly on the premium wine in order to protect the value of their brand and avoid conflict with their retail outlets. Our price will still be several dollars less than Retail outlets which will allow us to raise significant funds. From President Rob MEETING ANNOUNCEMENTS Peter Farquhar: Ride the Riesling Trail Update Those attending are advised to contact the Clare Caravan Park to confirm their rooms and to pay a deposit. 2 people per room @$167.00 less 10% (approx. $150.00) Peter will provide additional details via email 3
