Welcome Welcome to another edition of Oceans of Choice. We hope you enjoy the new look which we have been working on for the past few weeks. We have been listening to our customers and would like to give you more of the things that you want to see. Princess Cruises O c e a n Wo r l d Tr av e l w e r e a m o n g s t t h e l u c ky f e w w h o attended the naming ceremony of the Royal Princess. We joined the ship the night before to attend a special gala dinner. Entertainment was provided by the incredibly talented, and incredibly beautiful British songstress Beverly Knight. Sometimes you wonder if these stars really can sing but she left us in no doubt whatsoever. She was followed by the tribute band The Beatlemaniacs Live. They sang some fantastic old songs, and sang them really well! As you would expect, there were celebrity guests at every turn; Bruce Forsyth and his very beautiful wife were sat with Christopher Biggins who very kindly danced with a few over enthusiastic fans. We retired to our cabins at midnight for the big day, with a few concerns that we might not be able to have the naming outside. The following morning, although it was a little chilly (and I nearly lost my hat to the wind several times), the ceremony did indeed take place outside and we were invited to go to our seats. We listened to the sounds of the Royal Band and then suddenly the Duchess arrived, looking stunning of course, and everyone was awestruck. She really is a beautiful young woman and looked fabulous in her black and white Hobbs coat dress. Her hair was immaculate even in the fierce wind which threatened both her hair and her hat! She was charming, everything we had all hoped she would be. After she left we were able to walk to her seat and pose for a picture, and to stand on the podium where she had cut the ribbon for another photo. Royal Caribbean international ROOM UPGRADES ON US I celebrated my stag break on board Royal Caribbean's Adventure of the Seas, and although it s not the biggest ship I ve been on, RCI have made very good use of the space The atrium really gives you the WOW factor! The Royal Promenade is where it all happens, with lots of shops and a coffee shop that serves Starbucks, as well as an English pub called the Duck & Dog which features 16 varieties of ale's and beers from around the world! While I was on board, I had a go at the rock climbing wall, which was a great experience but not for the faint-hearted! The food in the main restaurant was fantastic, with such a huge variety of choice, that it was hard to decide what to have. I was so impressed with the impeccable service and extensive list of choices for dining available on board. The main stage show lounge was a real highlight for me, with some very talented singers and dancers, and the other evening entertainment in the nightclub was also fantastic the waiter serving me even remembered my drink when I ordered another! The staterooms were fantastic and didn t feel cramped, there were also luxurious bathrobes in the cabins, and Egyptian cotton towels, so we really felt spoiled and comfortable. CELEBRITY CRUISES I cruised on board Celebrity Eclipse a couple of years ago and adored every second! The service was outstanding and they were glad to cater to my dietary requirements, with the chef rustling up a special dessert for me in just 5 minutes! There was a gorgeous lawn on the top deck, which was very quirky and fun. The Martini Bar, with its special fascinating, bubbling and steaming cocktails, was tons of fun too! As for destinations, Scandinavia and Russia are a must see for any cruiser. The cost of living ashore in these countries is very high, so having your meals and drinks included will definitely save you some pennies. The Palace in St Petersburg in particular was everything I thought it would be and more it was outstandingly beautiful! I even met a Russian lady whose husband proposed to her in front of the Palace I wonder how he ll top that for their 10th wedding anniversary!
