AN INCREDIBLE HISTORY Sergeant Pepper s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Dark Side Of The Moon. Stereo. TV cameras. CAT scanners. This is where they came from. The Old Vinyl Factory didn t just press records; it was a global hotspot of technological innovation. EMI built a factory-city here that employed thousands of people and manufactured much of the music and many of the products that made life better in the 20th century. The place itself was for many years a model of industrial design, employing stylish, cutting-edge architecture and providing Hayes and its community with a source of pride, as well as prosperity. the future
A PLACE TO GROW
THE OLD VINYL FACTORY, HAYES The Old Vinyl Factory is a site with an incredible architectural, cultural and industrial history spread out over nearly 18 acres in Hayes, west London and built originally as the headquarters of EMI and His Master s Voice. With its accessibility 200m from Hayes Crossrail Station (coming 2018) and prime geographical location close to Heathrow and 1.2 miles from Stockley Park, Hayes is a place where people will want to live and play and where businesses will want to be. The vision for the future of The OId Vinyl Factory is to create a place where all three can thrive in a creative environment by restoring three existing Wallis, Gilbert & Partners Art Deco factory buildings and creating a new, mixeduse community around them. All of this will be set in 180,000 sq ft of landscaped public space, creating a whole new part of Hayes town centre. The plans are designed to rebuild The Old Vinyl Factory as the economic heartbeat of the town once again. Making it a truly creative place for international businesses to locate next to new technology start-ups, a beautifully designed place for people to live with vibrant new family friendly cinema, restaurants and live music leisure quarter. Planning consent was granted in April 2013.

THE MASTERPLAN The 250 million regeneration of The Old Vinyl Factory will create a place where the worlds of work, living and leisure don t just co-exist, but mutually, naturally nourish each other. It will be somewhere for inventive start-ups and creative businesses to thrive. A source of jobs with the brightest employers. Somewhere to live in comfort, with London and the world right on the doorstep, or simply somewhere to spend time, with award-winning buildings, inspiring public spaces, squares and places to go.
CENTRAL RESEARCH LABORATORY
CENTRAL RESEARCH LABORATORY: A PLACE TO INNOVATE A 7.7 million allocation from the GLA s Growing Places Fund to build the Central Research Laboratory (CRL) at the site was secured in October 2013. The CRL will be a pioneering facility to incubate new hi-tech manufacturing businesses and will create hundreds of jobs and contribute hundreds of millions of pounds to London s economy over the next ten years, kickstarting the renaissance of The Old Vinyl Factory as a hive of 21st Century innovation, manufacturing and commerce. The funding will enable the transformation of one of the existing buildings on the site, The Record Store, to become a ground-breaking support facility for new manufacturing start-ups where innovators will be able to take their idea through the final stages of development and to market. The CRL will be open in December 2015.
