Staff and groupings The staff supervising the visit are: Mrs. Rushton (trip leader) Miss Camacho (trip leader) Mrs. Stallard Mr. Wright Mr. Stingemore Mrs Fitzroy Students will be put into groups and assigned a group leader before the trip. They will be required to remain in these groups when we are out in Cologne and for registration times etc. The group leader will also be there if your son/daughter has any concerns/worries on the trip. Accommodation Address: Expo Hotel Valencia Avenida Pio XII 4 Valencia Spain 46009 Tel: 0034 963 03 36 00 Students will be sharing rooms with members of the same sex. All students will know the hotel room of their staff leader if they should have any issues. 2

Itinerary (may be subject to change) Day 1: Saturday 14 th July 12:45 hrs Students to meet their group leaders in Oak / Poplar playground with baggage, passports, EHIC and any medicine. I suggest that students have an early lunch / good brunch before departure as students arrive late evening at the hotel. 13:15 hrs Depart school 14:50 hrs Check-in at East Midlands Airport for RYNAIR flight number FR1756. Students will need to bring money to buy a meal at the airport or to buy food to take on the plane to eat as their dinner. 16:50 hrs Flight departs. No meals are served on this flight, but snacks and beverages can be purchased on board the aircraft. 20:20 hrs Anticipated arrival at the airport and transfer to Expo Hotel Valencia by coach where the group will spend the next 5 nights with half board accommodation. Students will be allocated their rooms and will have free time to unpack and settle in. Day 2: Sunday 15th July Morning: Visit to Las Fallas Muesum Afternoon: Visit to the Science Museum Evening: Organised activities and some free time. Day 3: Monday 16th July Morning: Walking Tour of the old town. Visit the Cathedral (shoulders and thighs to be covered!) 3

Afternoon: Visit to the food market Evening: Organised activities and some free time. Day 4: Tuesday 17th July Morning: Guided Tour of the Mestalla Stadium Afternoon: Hotel pool or beach Evening: Organised activities and some free time. Day 5: Wednesday 18th July Morning: Shopping and optional tapas tasting experience. Afternoon: Hotel pool or beach Evening: Some free time and packing for departure. Day 6: Thursday 19th July 08:30 hrs Breakfast and check out of accommodation. Free time / shopping 12:30 hrs Group to depart hotel by coach for Valencia airport. 13:20 hrs Check-in at Valencia airport for RYANAIR flight FR1757. Students to purchase lunch at the airport. 15:20 hrs 16.55hrs 19.30hrs Flight departs. Arrive at East Midlands Airport (local time) Anticipated arrival back at Tudor Grange by coach. 4

Passports and Visas Passport details should have already been provided along with a photocopy in case of emergency. This information will be disposed of securely upon our return to TGAS. Passports need to be valid for duration of the trip. Passports need to be given to group leaders upon arrival at TGAS on 14 th July. If your son/daughter has a non-british passport they may require additional paperwork. Please speak to Mrs. Rushton if this affects your child. For countries that are not listed (e.g. India), you will need to apply for a visa from the appropriate embassy and ensure that it is valid for the time of travel. https://www.britishcouncil.org/school-resources/partner/list-travellers Flight details: 5

What to pack Luggage: Students should bring one suitcase or holdall to put on the coach. They must be able to carry their own bag. Additionally students will need a small day bag to take on the coach with them and for the visits whilst we are in Spain. Things to bring: A watch or phone with alarm capability European plug adapter Phone charger High factor Sun cream & After sun and hat to protect you from sunstroke Medication if needed (speak to group leader) Small bag you may use for day times and excursions (you may need to purchase your lunch in advance and take it with you on the excursion) Beach / Swim towel Camera / phone & charger You will need to pack a sensible amount of clothes for the evenings and days when you will be on excursions At least 1 pair of comfortable shoes for excursions / walking tour T-shirts, shorts/ skirts clothes to keep you cool! Swimming costume / shorts / bikini (please ensure that these are appropriate) Please bring something to cover arms and thighs for the cathedral tour. pyjamas Waterproof?! Electronics Students are able to bring mobile phones and tablets if you wish, however, it will be students' responsibility to look after these. Students should have personal insurance. Some sites do not allow mobile phones/photographs. 6

Students are responsible for any roaming charges that may be incurred. This is a social trip as well as a language/cultural trip therefore no phones at meal times/during guided tours. We would also advise that students do not walk around with their phones clearly visible. Hoodies All students are receiving hoodies for the Valencia Tour as part of their trip costs. Students should wear these hoodies during travel to and from Spain so we can easily identify the group. Students will be notified by their Spanish teacher when the hoodies are ready for collection. EHIC and Medication 7 All eligible students need to have a valid EHIC. Your child should already have handed in a photocopy of their EHIC to Mrs. Rushton / Miss Camacho EHIC cards can be obtained, free of charge, at http://www.nhs.uk/nhsengland/healthcareabroad/ehic/pages/abou t-the-ehic.aspx Students may carry their own medication at your discretion. Please put this in a see-through re-sealable bag for taking on the plane. If you would prefer their group leader to have their medication/spare medication please hand this in to your child s group leader on arrival at TGAS on 14 th July. Medication handed to group leaders needs to be in a re-sealable bag with their name and instructions for use clearly identified on the front. Inhalers and Epi-pens - Please ensure that your son/daughter brings two on the trip. One will be given to their group leader, the other will need to be kept on them at all times.

Student Money and Meals Students will be responsible for looking after and budgeting for their spending. Breakfast and evening meals are included in the price of the tour. Students will be required to purchase snacks, drinks and lunch throughout the trip. Budget for 20 euros for lunch and drinks for each day. We are aware that it will be hot and students will be needing to buy lots of cold drinks and ice creams. For departure day, have an early lunch before you leave and budget for buying dinner at the airport. On your final return journey please budget to buy lunch before we leave and to buy dinner at the airport. The hotel has been advised of all dietary requirements. Rules Academy expectations apply as normal. Any issues that arise will be dealt with following the Academy policy and, if necessary, action taken on our return to TGAS. Respect and cooperate with all requests and requirements made by teachers Behave at all times in a manner which bring credit to themselves, teachers and the school Avoid noise and other behaviour which might cause inconvenience to other students and members of the public Participate fully in all activities and sessions during the visit Do not leave the accommodation unsupervised 8

Do not leave the group at any time without informing the group leader. Always return to a meeting place at the agreed time. Follow the laws of the country and comply with any regulations. Do not consume or purchase alcohol, tobacco or any intoxicating substances. Remain in your own room after lights out again you must not leave your room or the hotel at all as this is a great safety concern.
