USY International Convention 2010 will be held from December 22-30, 2010 in Orlando, FL. Convention includes a Pre-Convention that will be held at Congregation Ohev Shalom in Orlando, FL and USY International Convention that will be held at the Hilton Orlando. Seaboard Region will first have a Pre- Convention which will include a day in Disney World, a picnic in the park with canoeing, a local community service project, an outdoor nighttime movie, Shabbat with a local USY chapter and a hilarious show at the Improv Comedy Theater. Seaboard Region will then join over 1,000 USYers at USY International Convention which will include an incredible five days of USY programming, social action, study sessions, ruach, exciting evening programs, and more! During USY International Convention we will also be visiting EPCOT and the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando! And our hotel, the Hilton Orlando, features an incredible pool area with a large pool and waterslide and a lazy river, and the hotel has basketball/tennis/volleyball/bocce ball courts. The cost of USY International Convention, Pre-Convention, round-trip flights, all Kosher meals and snacks, and all programs and admission fees is $1320.00. APPLICATIONS AND FEES Applications are due in the Seaboard Region office no later than October 29, 2010, and full payment for Convention is due at that time. Where necessary, a payment plan can be worked out on an individual basis. Any requests for a payment plan must be made to the Seaboard Region office by October 29, 2010. All checks should be made payable to Seaboard Region USY. If you submitted a deposit for USY International Convention over the summer, you should deduct $300 (the price of the deposit) from the total registration fee. Contact your Rabbi, youth commission chairman, chapter advisor and scholarship committee chairman now to inquire about synagogue scholarships for International Convention. If scholarship funds are available, ask that decisions and awards be made as soon as possible. In this way you can meet the application deadline. Unfortunately, there are no regional scholarships available for USY International Convention. CANCELLATION FEE There is a significant cancellation fee that is imposed for cancellations received after the October 29, 2010. After this date we incur extra expenses from the airline, caterer and hotel. We will also lose money if other commitments / reservations must be changed after this date. Our Cancellation Policy is as follows: Cancellations Prior to October 29, 2010: No cancellation fee Cancellation from October 30 November 15: $500 fee Cancellation after November 15: No Refund TRANSPORTATION We have reserved block seats on U.S. Airways. The flight information (subject to change) is listed below. Our group tickets are only available based on roundtrip with the departure from Washington Reagan National Airport leaving on December 22 nd and the return flight on December 30 th leaving from Orlando International Airport. Please note that we have reserved a block of 70 seats which will be assigned on a firstcome first-served basis. Once we have sold all 70 seats, participants will have to purchase their own tickets but we can neither guarantee the group rate nor availability on our flights. CONTINUED
