Your Event Organiser is Carol who is also a fully qualified ESOL Tutor. Emergency Contact: 07970858945 In the formal gardens there are the World Rose Gardens, Herb Gardens, Herbaceous Borders, the Vegetable Garden and the Chronological Bed, which is one of only two in the UK. The Kibble Palace is a huge 2000m 2 Glasshouse which has an amazing botanical collection. The building itself has an interesting history that you ll be able to learn about while there. Friday 6th 10 Pin Bowling Costs: Entry: From 5.75 This afternoon we re off out to have an exciting time at the the Springfield Quay Bowling. The Centre has 23 Bowling lanes, a restaurant, a bar, pool hall, FREE WiFi, Big screen Sports and a Costa Coffee shop to amongst it s attractions

Saturday 7th Glengoyne Distillary Meeting: Glasgow Central Station @ 10am Cost: 4 Bus, from 7.50 Tour Today we re off for a tour of the world famous Glengoyne Whiskey Distillery. Sitting at the bottom of Dumgoyne Hill, the distillery started producing single malt whiskey in 1833 and is the only one which has the whiskey Stills in the Highlands while maturing in Casks in the lowlands of Scotland. While this sounds impressive, the Highland Line is actually the road outside!!

Monday 9th The Burrell Collection Costs: FREE With well over 8000 individual items on view and with displays of Medieval, Ancient Egyptian, Chinese and Islamic artwork, works by Degas and Cezanne and a fabulous Stained Glass Collection, there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. As usual in Scotland the museum is free entrance, and instead of the normal museum setup, this is one man s collection which he donated to Glasgow City in 1944 and is displayed in a modern building within the Pollok Park grounds. Monday 30th Kelvingrove Museum Cost: Subway 3, Entry FREE If you have not yet had a chance to visit The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, now is your chance to see one of Europe s finest collections. There are a total of 22 galleries to view, including art and sculpture, armour and weapons, clothing and furniture. With over 8000 exhibits, including a Salvador Dali canvass, the LA198 Spitfire hanging from the 1 st floor ceiling to mention but a few, this is a beautiful museum, housed in the glorious Kelvingrove Park and is the 3 rd most visited museum in the UK.

Saturday 28th Balloch & Loch Lomond Boat Trip Meeting: Glasgow Queen Street @ 10am Costs: Train 8, Boat 10 17 (1hr Experience & 2hr Island Discovery) Today we re off to visit the gateway to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, Balloch. While there we can explore the beautiful village, have a look around The Loch Lomond Shores, visit the Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre or take a walk around the Sea Life Aquarium. While there we will also be off for a boat trip around the Loch. We have the option of the 2hr Island Discovery Tour or the shorter 1hr Experience Tour. Friday 13th The David Livingston Centre Costs: 4 "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" This is a nationally famous quote, from a meeting between two explorers in Africa, H M Stanley and of course Dr. David Livingston. Livingston was an explorer and missionary during the 19 th century and his adventures and discoveries are celebrated here at his birthplace Museum. Set within acres of parkland and gardens overlooking the river Clyde in Blantyre, this is your chance to explore the life and work of this National Hero.

Saturday 14th Edinburgh Castle, Parliament House & More Meeting: Glasgow Queen Street Station @ 10am Cost: 12.60 Train Today we venture Edinburgh, the inspiring capital of Scotland, where centuries of history meet a vibrant, cosmopolitan city. Visiting Edinburgh Castle, Art Galleries & Museums, Scottish Parliament, Arthurs Seat to mention but a few, you can discover stunning scenery, striking architecture and fine food. Friday 27th Ceilidh Evening of Dance Meeting: Glasgow Central @ 8pm Costs: 8 (School Office) Sloans is one of the oldest and grandest venues right in the heart of Glasgow s city centre. Set over 3 floors, ground floor is the bar, 1 st floor is a function suite, and we shall be dancing the night away on the 2 nd floor ballroom. There is always a warm Scottish welcome for all attending, with a huge mix of nationalities and cultures coming together to enjoy an evening of Scottish Dancing. From the Gay Gordon s, St Bernard s Waltz through to Strip the Willow and the Dashing White Sergeant the dances are all easy to master and great fun to take part in.

Monday 23rd Monday 23rd The Lighthouse & Willow Tea Rooms Costs: Free The Lighthouse was the first publicly commissioned work completed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. There are 6 floors of innovative design and architecture, not to mention the incredible views over Glasgow that are your reward for climbing the MackIntosh Tower. Monday 16th Glasgow Science Centre Costs: Train 3 Entrance 8.50 Glasgow s Science Centre is truly an eye opening experience, giving insights into science and technology in new and innovative ways. With a planetarium, various exhibits, shows and workshops to entertain and educate in mind expanding 3d technology, with all this just a short train ride from the school we hope you ll enjoy this visit as much as we do. The Willow Tea Rooms is in the centre of Glasgow on Sauchiehall Street. It was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1904 and his world famous style is plain to see. traffic cone hat with pride.

Friday 20th Huntarian & Mackintosh House Cost: Subway 3, Entry FREE The Huntarian Museum is Scotland s oldest museum. The Hunterian collections include scientific instruments, Roman artefacts, major natural and life sciences displays and some of the objects from Captain Cook s Pacific voyages. The Mackintosh House is home to some of the most important collections of the work of Scottish architect, designer and artist, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his artist wife, Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh. Saturday 21st Falkirk Wheel & The Kelpies Meeting: Glasgow Queen Street Station @ 10am Costs: Train 8 Bus 3 Bikes 10 The Falkirk Wheel is famous the world over for not only its beautiful surroundings but its engineering design. It attracts visitors from all over the world over and today we have the chance to see for ourselves this impressive piece of engineering. Once there we ll explore the water park, café and visitor centre. We can hire bikes for a trip along the Forth & Clyde Canal, through the Helix and on to visit the Famous Kelpies. Alternatively a short bus journey will take us to this landmark of impressive, breath taking beauty.
