CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL PROGRAM ~ DALAT YEAR 6 April 5 th 8 th, 2016 ITINERARY: ** Itinerary is dependent on flight arrival time ** Day 1 (Tuesday, April 5 th ): Saigon Dalat arrival Tuyen Lam Camping (B,L,D) 5:00 am Pick up at CIS International School, and then vehicle transfers the group to Tan Son Nhat Airport to take the flight from Saigon to Dalat. Then the group will be divided into 4 groups. 9:15 am 12:15 pm Razorback trek This 9 km adventure, the newest of PTV s one day treks, heads up and along a jungle fringed ridgeline just south of town. This lonely trail charges up to its peak elevation early on and then gently rolls before heading down to the lake where it finishes. 12:15 1:30 pm Picnic lunch at Suoi Tia campsite. 1:30 4:30 pm Afternoon s activities The group will do the activities at Suoi Tia Campsite. The group will be divided into 4 teams and go through High Ropes Course and a series of Team Building activities. The Trust Series (Warm up activity Whole group) Identify the elements of trusting relationships and how they apply to teams and individuals. Page 2

High Ropes Course: High Ropes events take team members to new heights. Participants work though a series of climbing and balancing activities up to forty feet in the air. Each person selects their personal level of challenge and then experiences the thrill of reaching beyond perceived limits while achieving their personal goal, with total team focus and support. Each team will rotate through all courses. Zip Line Challenge This challenge requires participants to zip line acrosss the lake. Leap of Faith Team members must climb up to the top of the pole, balance and then leap to the high wire handle. This activity focuses on confidence and trust again at a very high level. People are moved way outside of their comfort zones and tested. Monkey Bridge Team members must climb up to the top of the monkey bridge and walk across in the fastest time possible. Page 3

Stepping stones The objective of this activity is to move the team from one side of an impassable area to the other by using stones in the fastest possible time. Star Wars (Warm up activity Whole group) All teams participate in this activity together. There are no individual winners or even team winners. There is only 1 team that either wins or loses. The activity focuses on assumptions Keypunch A continuous improvement activity designed to test group coordination and non verbal communication skills. Blind Blocks This is a communication activity that forces teams to quickly organize themselves and delegate tasks. Success is usually achieved by the team that clearly defines their system and has total buy in from all team members. Corporate Maze Teams in which members try to tackle the task on their own without helping each other almost inevitably fail in this activity. Trial and error is essential to solving the problem, but anxiety about making mistakes often generates confusion and stress within the team. Page 5

Water Balloon Volley Ball This challenge requires teams to coordinate both the pass and catch of a water balloon over a net. Teams with the best group coordination do the best. (Knowledge sharing, learn from best practice) Insanity (Closing activity Whole group) This activity is done as a multi team competition. The relationship between cooperation and competition is shown in an interesting situation. Both cooperation and competition are shown as strategies with different applications in different situations. 11:00 am 12:30 pm Lunch at the camp restaurant. 12:30 3:00 pm Raft building Competition The 4 teams will be provided with Raft building materials (bamboo, twine, floating drums and life jackets).
