PROGRAM NOTES Family Fun Camp is a 24-hour program. It is the perfect introductory camping program for "new" or experienced campers. All you have to do is show up and set up your simple camping area. All meals and program are provided for you. Camp tents are available for you to use or you can bring your own whichever you are most comfortable with. Note: If you do not have your own tent, please plan on camping in a campsite, where a camp tent will be provided for you to use. Please indicate on the registration form that you would like to camp in a campsite, and provide the name of the campsite if possible. We will do our best to accommodate all site requests. This program is a complete package. In order to reap all the benefits that it provides, it is strongly recommended that you do not leave until after the closing ceremony on day 2. Activities are presented in a round-robin format, so that everyone gets to experience everything that is offered. Participants walk from one activity to the next during the course of the day. **Cub Scouts can attend Parent & Pal as a pack, den or individual family, but it should be one-on-one with your own son for the best camping experience. Moms, Dads or both can attend. (Legal guardians and other family relatives grandparents, etc. are also welcome to attend.) (Note: If there are two or more Scouts in your family, it is okay to attend with one parent. And, again, both parents may attend with their Scouts.) Note: If you absolutely must bring another scout with you whose parent cannot attend, you may do so. It is not recommended, but it is allowed. At least that is better than to lose the other boy to a camping experience altogether. However, please be aware that you CANNOT sleep with a child other than you own. You will have to use two tents one for yourself and one for the boys. This program is open to all registered Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts; however, it is recommended that after attending Family Fun Camp that your Scouts are afforded the opportunity to Resident Camp, to better prepare them for the Boy Scouting program. Scouting is an age-appropriate program within which guidelines have been developed based on the mental, physical, emotional and social maturity of youth members. Family Fun Camp is meant to be a basic camping program. Our Council s overnight Resident Camp programs offer more challenging and varied opportunities for your older Scouts than are provided at Family Fun Camp. Please plan on bringing any necessities you feel you may need for your younger children high chair, etc. (Note: strollers are difficult to maneuver in camp!) If you have any questions about the Family Camping program, please call the Susquehanna Council Service Center at 570-326-5121 or email: Richard.morse@scouting.org FAMILY CAMP REFUND POLICY Camp will not be canceled because of rain. All program areas will either have cover or have alternate weather plans. Rain gear may be necessary to walk from one program area to the next. A request for a refund MUST BE MADE IN WRITING, including an explanation for the cancellation, and submitted to the Scout Service Center at which time it will be reviewed by the Council Camping Committee. Because of expenses already incurred, a $10 service charge will be deducted for each person cancelling. There will, however, be NO REFUNDS for cancellations made after 5:00 p.m. on August 15th, or for no shows the day of the event.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR FAMILY FUN CAMP Tent (unless you are camping in a campsite, in which case you can use a camp tent) Drop cloth (tarp) for under your personal tent (to keep the inside, and you, dry) not needed for camp tents Sleeping bag, extra blankets (it can get chilly at night) and pillow If bringing your own tent, an air mattress, cot or foam pad is recommended the ground is hard if using the camp tents, you may still wish to bring a foam pad or blanket for under your sleeping bag (it depends on how comfortable you want to be). The camp cots are canvas Army-type cots.
