TROUP TRAVELERS By: REBA RAY Troup Travelers have had a busy summer of camping. In June we went to Doll Mountain in Elijah, Ga. A fun time it was, with a low country boil one night, a covered dish one night and then to one of the small restaurant downtown on evening. Very nice park, just the water was a little deep to actual see much water. In July we had a good campout with going to Sunny s over in Roanoke, Al. for a Friday night buffet and then a potluck on Saturday with homemade ice cream to go along with desserts. In August we were at Whitetail Ridge and had a very relaxing weekend. Sometimes it s good just to lay back and not do much of anything. In September we will go back to Whitetail Ridge and have another campout. Our plans is to have foot long hot dogs on Friday night with all the trimmings and then on Saturday with a potluck supper. In October we will again meet at Whitetail Ridge with a luncheon on Saturday. New officers were elected in our club President- Michael & Stephanie Simmons, Vice President- Tom & Diane Brancheau, Secretary - Ron & Reba Ray, and Treasurer- Harold & Pat Hudson. In November we will be going to Spring Villa Campground the second weekend which is in Opelika, Al. At this time we will have a tail gate party for all the football games going on. So if you want to join in, please do so. Hope everyone is enjoying their camping as much as we have. Looking forward to the cooler weather and the fires again. Happy Camping to all! *********************************************************************************************** Road Runners By: R. L. Ward The July meeting was a poolside gathering at R.L. & Lillian's home. We shared a meal of Hot Wings and lots of delicious trimmings. For the month of August, we traveled to Pigeon Forge, TN and camped at King's Holly Haven Campground. We ate at Huck Finn's Restaurant the first night. We did an evening at the Dixie Stampede with great food and entertainment. A day trip to Cades Cove and a picnic was shared. Shopping and going to a large flea market was also, fun for everyone. We enjoyed games, food and good fellowship around the campsites. September, we met at the home of Rosie and Don's. Discussed and planned our part for the upcoming Fall campout. Excited about the October campout at River Vista. The Costume Ball and all the activities planned by the Peach Rollers sounds like a weekend filled with "Loads of Fun!!" The Road Runners wishes Everyone "Happy Autumn Days" - "A Blessed Thanksgiving" - and a "Merry Christmas Season!!" Remember: "JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON." Safe Travels and Camping~~~~~~

********************************************************************************************** PEACH ROLLERS By: Linda Smith July 9 th weekend a few of us camped at on Lake Lanier, at Bolding Mill Campground, Gainesville, GA. We had a good time just relaxing and having fun. We had homemade ice cream that was yummy! August 13 th weekend we camped at Blue Water RV Resort, Dayton, TN. Mike and Carolyn Cox Wagon masters for the month. We had lake/river front lots. The management was excellent at Blue Water Campground. Every evening they started a campfire at the pavilion every night for us and even furnished the fire wood. They said we were there first camping group they had. It was very quiet even during the day. Several brought their Kyats or used the campgrounds and enjoyed the water. September campout was a four night Labor Day weekend campout at Crescent Group Camp, Starr, SC on Lake Hartwell, about three miles from the GA/SC state line. We had about 18 units, around 54 people including teens and younger children. This also included a few visitors for the weekend. The weekend included karaoke and line dancing, games and of course lots of food. We cannot forget the beautiful sunsets and star gazing at this great location. Some rented boats others used floats and blowup rafts/boats. We were very lucky on the weather as bad thunderstorms was all around us. Did damages not too far from where we were. We would like to welcome our new members to the FCRV, GSA FCRV, and Peach Rollers organization. Fall Campout: Please send in your registration for the fall campout if not already done so. October 1, 2015 was the original registration deadline. This has been extended until October 10, 2015. Please provide your email and phone number for your registration conformation. See you at the Fall Campout in Dillard, GA, bring your Scarecrows, site decorations and costumes for a fun filled weekend! *********************************************************************************************** SPRING LIZARDS By: Edna Jordan Where does time go? 2015 is 3/4 gone; the first day of Fall came and went with a beautiful flourish; it's time for campouts that seem to have just happened a short time past; a lot of us have passed birthday milestones already this year; our kids, grandkids, and great grandkids are growing up before our eyes. Isn't God good to give us so many blessings to enjoy?!! The Spring Lizards are alive and "hanging in there." Sickness takes its toll, especially with the Doroughs, Spencers, Nell Smith, and the Williams. Let's all enjoy every opportunity to share life around the campground, the table, the phone, or the business meetings. Life-long friendships are among the most precious assets we share. We work to be cooperative, to be an active part of our camping group, to be considerate in our speech as we express our personal preferences, and to recognize (with tolerance) that we are all unique individuals. We pray the same for all our camping compadres.

At our meeting last night (9/28), we accepted invitations from the Williams to host our November meeting and from the Stephens to plan our December/Christmas time. Meeting in individual homes is great; but, we are trying to get back to more actual camping. We are looking into 2 venues for camping before the end of the year and also looking forward to the New Year's Eve time with our other camping friends. It's almost GSA Fall Campout time. We will be providing Saturday lunch. Four of our members will be able to attend, so we may need a little helping hand. The Jordan s will be having their daughter, Paula's, wedding at their home on the 24th. We are praying for good weather, as well as for Paula and Nathan. Another personal note--our camping-through-the-years grandson, Trey Herndon, is recently married also. He is still based at Camp Lejeune, NC. As 2015 winds down, we pray for each to have a good finish, an active camping time for the rest of the year, and for God to bless with health, happiness, and faithfulness. ********************************************************************************************** Please submit your articles/photos/forms for future editions of the newsletter by the dates listed below to linddsmth@aol.com or gsacrackerbarrel@att.net December 20, 2015 March 28, 2016 June 28, 2016 September 28, 2016 If you are not in a club and would like to submit an article or information, please do so by the above dates.
