TO DIVIDE THE TOWN S TERRITORY INTO SIX ELECTORAL DISTRICTS ADOPTION PROCEDURE SUMMARY NOTICE OF MOTION: MARCH 21, 2016 ADOPTION OF BY-LAW: MAY 16, 2016 COMING INTO EFFECT: OCTOBER 31, 2016 WHEREAS notice of motion for this by-law was given on March 21, 2016; WHEREAS under section 9 of the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities (R.S.Q. c. E-2.2) (the Act), the number of electoral districts in the Town shall not be fewer than 8 nor more than 12; WHEREAS on March 18, 2016, under section 10 of the Act, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy authorized the Town to maintain at six the number of electoral districts; WHEREAS Council deems it advisable and necessary to proceed with the division of the Town s territory into six electoral districts so as to meet the requirements of section 12 of the Act. ON MAY 16, 2016, COUNCIL ENACTED THE FOLLOWING: 1. The Town of Mount Royal shall be divided into six electoral districts described and bounded as follows: Electoral District No. 1 Starting at the intersection of Beaumont Avenue and the northeast Town boundary, the northeast and southeast Town boundaries, the rear lot line of Rockland Road (southwest side), the rear lot line of Graham Boulevard (southeast side), Brookfield Avenue, the rear lot line of Rockland Road (southwest side, to Brittany Avenue), the Rockland Road and the northwest and northeast Town boundaries to the starting point. Such district shall comprise 2 021 electors, a -14% variation from the mean, and an area of 1.10 km 2. Electoral District No. 2 Starting at the intersection of Vivian Avenue and Dumfries Road, the rear lot line of Vivian Avenue (northwest side), Regent Road and its extension, the CN railroad tracks, the northwest Town boundary, Rockland Road (to Brittany Avenue), the rear lot line of Rockland Road (southwest side) and Vivian Avenue to the starting point. Such district shall comprise 2 530 electors, a +7.6% variation from the mean, and an area of 0.85 km 2.

Electoral District No. 3 Starting at the intersection of Bates Road and the Town s southeast boundary, the southeast Town boundary, the CN railroad tracks, the extension of Regent Road, that road, the rear lot line of Vivian Avenue (northwest side, to Dumfries Road), Vivian Avenue, the rear lot line of Rockland Road (southwest side), Brookfield Avenue, the rear lot line of Graham Boulevard (southeast side), the rear lot line of Rockland Road (southwest side) and the southeast Town boundary to the starting point. Such district shall comprise 2 633 electors, a +11.9% variation from the mean, and an area of 0.85 km 2. Electoral District No. 4 Starting at the intersection of the CN railroad tracks and the extension of Hudson Avenue, that extension and that avenue, Athlone Road, Graham Boulevard (to Kindersley Avenue), the rear lot line of Graham Boulevard (southeast side), the rear lot line of Kenaston Avenue (southeast side), Saint-Clare Road, the rear lot line of Graham Boulevard (southeast side, to Glengarry Avenue), Graham Boulevard, Fulton Road, the northwest Town boundary and the CN railroad tracks to the starting point. Such district shall comprise 2 461 electors, a +4.6% variation from the mean, and an area of 0.94 km 2. Electoral District No. 5 Starting at the intersection of the CN railroad tracks and the southeast Town boundary, the southeast Town boundary, Laird Boulevard, Saint-Clare Road, the rear lot line of Kenaston Avenue (southeast side), the rear lot line of Graham Boulevard (southeast side, to Kindersley Avenue), Graham Boulevard, Athlone Road, Hudson Avenue, its extension and the CN railroad tracks to the starting point. Such district shall comprise 2 128 electors, a +9.4% variation from the mean, and an area of 0.86 km 2. Electoral District No. 6 Starting at the intersection of Abercorn Avenue and Saint-Clare Road, Saint- Clare Road, Laird Boulevard, the southeast, southwest and northwest Town boundaries, Fulton Road, Graham Boulevard (to Glengarry Avenue), the rear lot line of Graham Boulevard (southeast side) and Saint-Clare Road to the starting point. Such district shall comprise 2 333 electors, a -0.7% variation from the mean, and an area of 2.94 km 2. The boundaries of the electoral districts are described clockwise. References to roadways are to their centre line unless otherwise provided. Any reference to the rear line of a roadway means that the electoral district boundaries pass behind the sites fronting the roadway mentioned. The side of such roadway is defined by a cardinal point.
