Clarification /Action Taken During construction of proposed civil enclave and terminal building, operation and landscaping work, emplyement opportunities will be generated for skilled, semi skilled and unskilled workers. Based on qualification and experience, employment opportunities will be given to local people in the contract works. During construction of the proposed civil enclave approx 80 to 100 persons will be deployed in the construction works. Semi-skilled and unskilled work opportunities in contract works will be preferably will be given to local peoples. In contract works during construction and operation phases of proposed civil enclave, preference will be given to local people as per their skill. Officials of Airports Authority of India informed that in comparison to military aircraft, civil aircraft generate very less noise. At proposed civil enclave, during take-off and landing, noise will be generated for short duration. Further, operation of civil aircraft (ATR-72) will be only during day time. The noise levels from 65-85 db(a) will be confined within the boundary of the proposed Civil Enclave. The noise levels of 55 db(a) cross the boundary and affect 0.8 km 2 of area out side boundary of Civil Enclave. The noise levels of 50 db(a) cross the boundary and affect 1.81 km 2 of area out side the boundary of Civil Enclave. The background noise levels range from 41.3-63.6 db(a) at nearby villages/settlements which are located 0.6 km to 5.3 km from boundary of the proposed Civil Enclave. The impact of noise levels due to the operation of the proposed Civil Enclave within permissible levels. Further, noise mitigation measures to be implemented at and around the proposed Civil Enclave will further reduce the noise levels in nearby settlements. Mitigation Measures The compliance of all standards prescribed by the ICAO during operation of aircrafts by preventive maintenance and monitoring, Proper traffic management has been prepared to ensue that there is no traffic congestion at the proposed civil enclave.
