Newsletter Welcome to the Spring edition of the Ullswater Steamers Kids lub Newsletter. We are busy preparing for the new spring arrivals due around the ake. The local farmers are getting ready for lambing time, all the bulbs will be getting ready to flower and Sammy has be polishing the Steamers ready to show all the spring delights to the visitors. In this edition of the newsletter we have prepared some spring themed activities just for you. And don t forget to check out our up and coming events... Steamers Announces 14 Events On Which To ruise Back To Happiness In 2014! Idyllic umbrian lake cruise company, Ullswater Steamers is heading into the New Year with 14 fabulous events or event types for 2014, including brand new ones based around preserves, predators and practical instruction with the camera. The akes 14, as they are being termed, are themed around marmalade, Easter and teddy bears, birdwatching, photography, pirate adventures, fish and chips, history and heritage, a yachting regatta, myths and legends, wildlife, geology, red deer, Halloween, and Santa. The main purpose of the "Steamers" was not only to carry passengers but also Royal Mail, provisions, slate from nearby mines and lead from the reenside mine in lenridding. During WW2 the "Steamers" even ferried soldiers down to lenridding for their training at the Ullswater Hotel. Did you also know... In 1881 ady of the ake sank at her moorings and was re-floated by a team of divers from iverpool. She sank again in 1958 after a severe storm. In 1965, she was badly damaged by fire and was out of service for 14 years until ord Wakefield had her restored and refitted ; she was re-launched on 19th May 1979 by William Whitelaw.

Departs lenridding at 10.30am Tickets must be booked in advance, 38 per person. th May Pirates - 28 th May Two departures from lenridding, 11am and 2.30pm. oad the cannons and prepare to battle with our pirates onboard a two hour adventure. 12 per pirate, under three years free. Book in advance. June Statesman Rail The Fellsman ommence 11 th June The popular steam hauled Fellsman returns in 2014. A two hour evening cruise from Pooley Bridge, price includes fish and chip supper (veggie option available) and entertainment with Pete ashley. Departs Pooley Bridge at 7pm. November Photography Day 6 th November See 22 nd May for details. December Yuletide Afternoon Tea & ruise Available on Monday Friday only from 1 st 19 th December. Enjoy a festive afternoon tea at Inn on the ake and take a winter cruise on Ullswater. Book in advance. Santa & His Happy Elves 14 th December A festive treat with fun for all. Two sailings from lenridding - 10.30am or 1.30pm. Ticket price 13 per person includes cruise, gift for the children, journey gift voucher for adults and light refreshments.
