DAY 1: ORIGIN POINT - MADRID Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Check in and free time until dinner time. We will visit an exclusive flamenco stage where we will see an exclusive flamenco dance accompanied by a drink. Return to the hotel to rest until the next day.
DAY 2: MADRID Breakfast. Panoramic tour of Madrid by Bus: Castellana s Ride, Park del Retiro, Cibeles Square, Colón Square, Gran Vía, España Square, Mayor Street. Then we have do a stop at the Bullring of Las Ventas, Santiago Bernabeu s Stadium and East Square (Royal Palace). We will visit the facilities of Santiago Bernabeu s Stadium, headquarters of the Real Madrid football club. Then will have lunch in one of his restaurants while we can eat observing the stadium. Free time until the time to pick up the bus to go to the next city, Valladolid. Arrive and accommodation. Diner at the hotel and rest until the next day.
DAY 3: MADRID PEÑAFIEL Breakfast. Today we will visit the town of Peñafiel. We will go to the medieval Castle of the fourteenth century (its silhouette can be seen from several kilometers and resembles that of a boat anchored in the rock). It currently houses the Provincial Wine Museum in the South courtyard, which we will visit. Likewise, we will tour the interior of the castle and climb its 34-meter-high tower from which you can admire spectacular views. Next, we will visit one of the most emblematic wineries of the Ribera del Duero is Bodegas Protos. A masterpiece of the 21st century, designed by Rogers Stirk Harbor and Alonso Balaguer. At the end of the visit, we will taste 2 of its best wines. Then we will go to lunch at a typical restaurant in the area. After lunch we will have a free time to walk Peñafiel and to take some pictures from his unique and exclusive Coso s Square. In the afternoon, we will visit a genuine vineyard estate of more than 150 years with its vineyards and buildings of the late 19th century and we will be able to talk with its people who are also artists. We will return to Valladolid where we will have dinner at the hotel and rest until the next day.
DAY 4: VALLADOLID Breakfast. We will begin the guided tour of the city of Valladolid: Zorrilla s Avenue, Campo Grande, Filipinos Convent, Cristobal Colón Monument, Cervantes House, Pisuerga River, Millennium Dome, Poniente Square, La Rosaleda From the San Pablo s Square, we will start a pleasant walking tour where we will visit the most important monuments of the city: Church of San Pablo (jewel of Plateresque), Royal Palace (where the Royal Court was installed for a brief period of time with the King Felipe II), Pimentel Palace (Felipe II was born here, we will enter the courtyard and the Zaguán), San Gregorio School (the cloister will be visited), Gondomar Palace, José Zorrilla s House, Angustia s Church, Calderón Theater, Church of Santa María de La Antigua, Facade of the University, Cathedral, Ruins of Old Collegiate, Gutiérrez s Passage, Dorada s Source and Main Square. Next, we will go to enjoy a succulent lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch we will have free time until dinner time where we will do a tapas tour through the historic center of the city accompanied by a local coordinator. Return to the hotel to rest until the next day.
DAY 5: TORO Breakfast. Today we will travel the distance that separates us from the city of Toro. We will enjoy the guided tour of this city of great historical and monumental importance, located on the banks of the Duero s River and surrounded by vineyards. This has generated a high quality wine culture that has been protected with the Toro Denomination of Origin. We will see the Alcázar (the oldest building in the city, from the 10th century), the Collegiate Church of Santa María la Mayor (from the XII century in Romanesque and Gothic style and where the Portico of the Majesty stands out), other churches, the Bridge, the Ringbull Then, we will visit the Cheese Museum, where we can see the evolution of the cheese making process in this family and artisan factory. To end the visit, we will taste 7 varieties of cheeses and sausages, accompanied by local wines. Lunch at a Fariña s Winery. In the afternoon we will visit the Fariña s winery facilities. Free time. Dinner at the hotel and rest until the next day.
DAY 6: SALAMANCA Breakfast. Departure by bus to Salamanca, a city declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988 and European Capital of Culture in 2002. In this visit we will know the history of the city and its most remarkable monuments: Main Square, Cathedrals, University, House of Shells, etc. We will also be able to discover magical corners as Corrillo Square, Fonseca Palace, Colon Garden, Convent of Las Dueñas, Convent of Dominicans, Calixto and Melibea s Orchard, the Lis s House, the Unamuno s House, Monterrey Palace, the House of Dead... Lunch at a local restaurant. Free time until the time to return to the hotel. At the appointed time, dinner. Accommodation.
DAY 7: ÁVILA Breakfast. Departure by bus to Ávila, a relevant city whose medieval old town, in excellent condition, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985. We will start the visit enjoying the panoramic views from the top of the wall, a vestige preserved since the Middle Ages, which makes the city a defensive core of great prestige. Next, we will visit the Salvador s Cathedral, episcopal seat of Castilla y León. It is the first Gothic Cathedral of Spain, constructed by Fruchel of Romanesque style of transition to Gothic. We will continue the visit to the Santa Teresa Chuch - Convent, a 17th century building, built on the supposed home of St. Teresa de Jesus, a religious born in Ávila and founder of the Discalced Carmelites. She was canonized 40 years after her dead and, along with St. Juan de la Cruz, one of the great teachers of the spiritual life of the Catholic Church. The building was declared of Cultural Interest since 1886. The church is in Baroque style. Inside, we will enjoy the Relics Room of Santa Teresa, where we can observe her mummified finger and 2 bones of St Juan de la Cruz. Lunch and free time until return to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 8: LA GRANJA Y SEGOVIA Breakfast. Departure by bus to La Granja de San Ildefonso, Royal Site declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2013 and whose historic-artistic center is declared Historic Monumental. In this visit, we will enjoy the visit of this majestic Palace built by order King Philip V in 1721. It was used as a summer residence until Alfonso XIII. The Palace follows an example of European palatine architecture, following the style of the Palace of Versailles with its gardens and fountains. The gardens are one of the best preserved examples of the 18 century. They occupy 146 hectares and it possesses diverse varieties of vegetation. By order of King Philip V, and according to his French tastes, abundant adornments were included in the fountains and white marble sculptures. There are also Italian influences of Queen Elizabeth of Farnese. There are so important the Fountains of Neptune, Apollo and Andromeda, the Fountain of Horse Racing, the Amphitrite s Waterfall, the Fountain of Diana s Bath and the Fountain of Fame (the most important). Lunch at a local restaurant. IN the afternoon, we will go by bus to Segovia, whose old town and aqueduct were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985. We will make a panoramic visit of the city, visiting its most important monuments until the Alcázar, a castle-palace on top of a hill, from where you can see great s views of the whole city. Afterward we will take a guided tour on foot through the historical part, visiting the Aqueduct (considered the most important Roman civil engineering work in Spain), the Main Square and the Cathedral (in gothic style with renaissance features erected in 16th century). At the appointed time, return to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
DAY 9: LAS ROZAS VILLAGE ORIGIN POINT Breakfast. Today we will take the bus to go to the outlet Las Rozas Village. We will spend the day off. From there we will go to the airport at the scheduled time to take the plane to come back to the origin point. Arrival and end of our services. NOTE: The tour order can be changed without affecting its contents.
