Cheap shopping: Shops pay no sales tax or income tax yet and so none of the items require the big mark-ups found elsewhere. GST was introduced on Norfolk Island in 2007. Dining, tours, hire cars are cheaper than at most other destinations. Clothing and electronic items are much cheaper and discount vouchers make shopping cheaper still. At present, there is no departure tax from Australia to Norfolk. There is a $40 departure tax on leaving Norfolk, but this is included in your airfare and the prices opposite. You will be notified of flight times to and from Norfolk well in advance. Prices do not include return flight Melbourne- Sydney. Please allow at least 2 hours between arrival in Sydney and domestic return flight to Melbourne. EX BRISBANE: You need to be at Sydney airport 2 hours prior to the Sydney departure. NEW ZEALAND PARTICIPANTS: Because of flight schedules Auckland Norfolk Island, participants from New Zealand will have their bridge holiday running from Sunday, November 17 to Sunday, November 24. If not joining the Holiday Bridge group at the South Pacific Resort Hotel, the bridge-only-fee of $NZ575 is payable. This includes all bridge sessions plus all the tours listed. It does not include transfers to and from the airport to your hotel. Please have your travel agent arrange transfers. To exclude half-day tour, deduct $30. All bookings must be accompanied by a $400 per person deposit. Bookings without a deposit will be placed on wait list until the deposit is received. Due date for final payment: 19th July, 2013. PLEASE NOTE: Medicare does NOT extend to Norfolk Island. It is absolutely essential that you arrange insurance to cover all contingencies including medical and hospital expenses in case of accident. NOTES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS: (1) The tour is based on departure from Sydney. You will need to make your own way to Sydney airport. (2) Prices for non-bridge participants are available on application. (3) All prices quoted are for current members of Holiday Bridge ($A30.00 / $NZ35.00 per household per annum); if not a member of Holiday Bridge, add 10% to prices overleaf. (4) All bookings must be accompanied by a deposit of $400 per person, made payable to Ron Klinger. (5) This holiday has been booked out in past years. Bookings will close when all rooms have been allocated. (6) Upon cancellation 123 days or more before the scheduled departure date, all moneys paid will be fully refunded. Cancellations 123-91 days from departure incur a $900 charge. For cancellation 90 days or less before departure: Total loss of package. (This why is it so vital that you insure!) (7) Baggage: Strict weight limits apply for travel to Norfolk Island. Maximum baggage permitted at present is one (1) suitcase weighing no more than 23kg. (8) Final payment is due by 19 / 07 / 13. (9) Insurance: It is essential to insure for hospital & medical expenses for accidents and against cancellation of travel and other expenses due to unforeseen circumstances. (10) Passports: A current passport with 6 months validity is required. Passengers go through Customs on leaving and returning to Australia. Duty free applies as for international travel. (11) On current schedules, travel to Norfolk is on Monday, 18th November and return will be on Monday, 25th November. The organisers accept no responsibility for changes to these dates due to flight rescheduling. (12) Tour responsibility: (a) Holiday Bridge is the organiser of the bridge activities on this holiday. (b) Air New Zealand is responsible for the carriage of passengers and their baggage by its service in accordance with the conditions on its tickets. (c) The Owners of the hotels and the operator of the tours and associated services ('Owners') are responsible for the provision of these services. (d) Holiday Bridge, Air New Zealand and the Owners reserve the right to vary any of the schedules and costs associated with this holiday.
