Please take a moment to read through this guide, which will acquaint you with the services and amenities that we offer: We trust that your stay will be comfortable and enjoyable. Yours in hospitality ANASTASIA ZACHARELLIS Owner of Zacharellis Hotel Enterprises -- A little HISTORY on our HOTEL We are still researching the facts of this Grand Olde Establishment The information we have been able to uncover was provided by the Cory Library Mr Henry O Donnel, an Irishman, retired from His Majesty s Service after 26 years He received his pension and applied for a license to run an Inn, Canteen and Boarding House. The licence was granted in 1847, after which he built the Irish Harp Hotel on the corner of Hill and New Street. The exact date is not known, but all clues suggest that it was built in 1849. In 1860, Archibald Lappan, took over the Hotel and changed the name to The Welcome Inn/or also known as Lappan Hotel He ran it until the year 1901 after which another new owner renamed it as the Hotel Victoria Mews The current owners has owned the Hotel Victoria Mews since the 1980 s

Information A-Z Please let the Reception Staff know if there is anything else you might need that is not mentioned in this file Administration Facilities All office equipment is located in the Administration Office. Our Reception staff will gladly assist you with any Administration requirements you might have. ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES Guests are able to occupy rooms as from 14h00 on the day of arrival. Check-out time on the day of departure is 11h00. If you however wish to extend this time, or need to store luggage for longer, please contact Reception and we shall do our utmost to accommodate you. BANKING Most major Banks are within a few minutes walk of our Complex. Please ask our Reception staff for directions. BREAKFAST The Perfect way to start your day Breakfast is served in Gino s Italian Restaurant ask Reception for directions Breakfast Times: Monday to Friday: 07h00-09h00 Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays: 07h00-09h00 Should you wish to leave earlier than our Breakfast times, please Let the Reception Staff know and we can gladly make up a Take Away Breakfast Pack for you.

BAR We have 2 Ladies/Restaurant Bars on the premises Gino s Bar and The Vic Bar Breakages and missing items Please note that you will be held responsible for all/any breakages and/or missing items in your room and will be charged accordingly. CAR HIRE Please contact Reception for assistance. CAR WATCH/SECURITY If you would like your vehicle washed, please contact Reception And they will arrange it for you. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THE LOCAL BEGGARS OR CHILDREN TO WASH YOUR VEHICLE. We do offer a security service/person to look after your vehicle at night. However, we urge you to PLEASE REMOVE all visible, loose items from Your vehcile to prevent thieves from being tempted! We also have facilities where goods can be stored so please feel free to make use of it, by contacting our Reception Staff CLEANING SERVICES Please refer to Housekeepimg COFFEE/TEA All our rooms have facilities for our guests to make yourself a cup of tea/coffee And these are supplied free of charge upon your arrival. Should you wish to have refreshments during the day, you are welcome To join us in either of our Restaurants. CONFERENCE FACILITIES Please contact our Management Team

DINNER Please consult the RESTAURANT Menu s in your room. DOCTORS & DENTIST Should you require the services of a doctor or dentist, our Reception Staff will assist you. DO NOT DISTURB If you do not wish to be disturbed, please indicate this by hanging the DO NOT DISTURB card/sign (behind door) on the outside door-knob of your room. DRY CLEANING See Housekeeping EVACUATION PROCEDURE Please take note of the evacuation signs around the hotel. In the event of an emergency, DO NOT PANIC. Advise the Reception immediately by dialing 21. EMERGENCY AND FIRE 1. Should you discover a fire please contact reception immediately by dialing 21. 2. Please do not attempt to put the fire out yourself, move away from the dangerous area by following the emergency exit signs until you are out of the building. 3. Please gather across the road at the front of the Hotel in New Street To encourage our guests to develop good safety habits, we offer the following suggestions: 1. Investigate safety features of every hotel that you stay in. 2. Locate the fire exits, alarms, extinguishers and fire hoses nearest to your room and how to get to them even under adverse conditions. 3. If you leave your room, take your room key with you, go to the nearest fire exit, stay low and keep away from the smoke. SURVIVE 1. If you return, or stay in your room, fill the bath tub with water,wet sheets, and pack them completely around the door. Block vents from which smoke is coming out, call the hotel reception by dialing 21, give him/her your room number and explain that you are staying in your room, Stay low if there is smoke in your room. 2. Keep a wet cloth over nose and mouth. If door and walls are hot pour water on them using an ice bucket or waste basket. 3. STAY CALM

EXTRA SUPPLIES & FACILITIES Your room has been equipped with a range of amenities and supplies to make you as comfortable as possible. If you require extra, please contact Reception We also have the following items available, in case you forget yours: Toothbrush & toothpaste & Razors. FANS Most of our rooms are equipped with either a ceiling fan or a wall fan. FIRST AID Should you require any assistance, plesae contact our Reception Staff HAIR DRYERS Please contact Reception, who shall supply one to your room. HEATERS All our rooms have the flat, white, wall-mounted Panel heaters and you are more than welcome to leave it on to ensure that your room is kept warm. These heaters are very safe and electricity costs are low. HOUSEKEEPING Rooms are cleaned on a daily basis. For long staying guests, the linen is changed every third day. Should you wish to sleep-in, please let our Reception know, Or simply hang the Do not Disturb sign on the outside of your room door, so that nobody disturbs you. (Sign hangs on inside of door handle) In-house Laundry and dry cleaning services are available and the Laundry baskets and lists can be found in your room. Please place all laundry in the Basket and leave a list with clear instructions on your bed. If Reception staff are able to collect your clothing before 10h00, it will be delivered to you the same day. Contact Reception should you have any items that need to be ironed as between 08h00 and 17h00 it will be done by one of our staff members. Plesae note that no ironing is allowed in our rooms.

LOST & FOUND These items will be sent to the Office or Receptiom for safekeeping. LUNCH Please consult the Restaurant Menu in your room. MAIL & MESSAGING All mail, messages, e-mails or faxes will be held for you at Reception. MANAGER ON DUTY If you would like to speak to the Manager on Duty please contact Reception MEALS Please consult Menu in your room or refer to Restaurant on this file POOL TOWELS Pool Towels are available on request from Reception. Please do not use the room towels for the swimming pool. PORTER SERVICE We do not offer a full time Porter service, but if you need help with carrying Ypur luggage, please contact Reception and we shall arrange for someone to help. We have 2 of Grahamstown s most popular Restaurants and a Pizza Take Away on our premises, which are also part of our business.

We will not accept any responsibility for valuables or money left in your room. SHOPPING All major shops are situated around the town centre and within walking distance of the Hotel. SMOKING Please note ALL our bedrooms are NON-SMOKING. Should you wish to smoke, you are kindly requested to do so on the varandah or balcony outside the building. The reason for this is: The building was built in 1849, and constructed mainly of wood. Fire hazards are therefore a big risk for us, and your safety very important, in case of an accident.
