Q6 At this time a lot about the Metro situation remains fluid, so Trinity is cautious about promising any specific remedy. However, we are in a planning process that includes consideration of various options to support students, faculty, staff and visitors during the period of Red Line disruption in October/November. In your view, understanding that some of this is very speculative and may not happen, what are the most helpful things that Trinity should consider including in the plan for the period during the Metro disruption: Answered: 292 Skipped: 20 Provide shuttle bus bridges from NoMa and from Fort Totten Facilitate organization of car pools Expand use of online/hybrid instructional options Promote flextime options for staff 77.74% 227 17.47% 51 41.44% 121 34.93% 102 Total Respondents: 292 # Other (please specify) Date 1 Do as much as you can to support our transportation. Students like me has to get up 5am to get here for classes around 7:30am 2 Subsidized Uber, Lift, taxi or similar private transport. Restrictions should include min. # of passengers, time, etc. Negotiate rates with commercial 'limo' services, e.g. Reston Limo or other providers in the wider Trinity network. Online learning options, while convenient, have been proven to present sugnificant learning and perfomance challenges vs. FTF delivery. Online learning environments favor highly-motivated, self-reliant, confident studies. In this environment, virtual advising strategies will help sustain patterns of strong FTF academic performance. 3 unsolicited comment: I love that Trinity offers free parking to employees making it very cost-effective to drive to work daily; this means those of us fortunate enough to own cars do not have to depend on Metro. 8/25/2016 2:27 PM 6/23/2016 2:25 PM 6/16/2016 10:46 AM 4 Provide shuttles from Noma or gallery place China town (which is a transfer line for many students ) 6/14/2016 12:21 AM 5 Provide shuttle bus bridges from Takoma station!!! 6/13/2016 2:32 PM 6 Telecommute 6/13/2016 8:57 AM 7 students arriving late to classes due to safe track shouldn't be penalized. Consider online classes 6/13/2016 8:53 AM 8 Shuttle service from Rhode Island 6/12/2016 10:17 PM 9 Provide a shuttle bus to/from Columbia Heights 6/12/2016 4:42 PM 10 moodle can handle a lot of this but many students dont seem to have proper equipment and/or wifi at home so unless they are in the dorms on campus the expansion of moodle as a stop-gap has some drawbacks. 11 Shuttle busses should be in place. Lets say the last stop is Fort Totten there should be a shuttle bus to Trinity. Some of us cannot get to school without the train. Me taking busses would be a 3 hour commute which is not going to work to and from school everyday. 6/12/2016 1:18 PM 6/11/2016 7:27 PM 9 / 10

12 I live on campus 6/11/2016 2:48 PM 13 Also provide more parking for students. 6/11/2016 2:47 PM 14 Give discount or a certain price to ride with uber or lyft. Have not only shuttles in Fort totten or Noma but collect another survey of metro station where in the Dmv area does the students can get a Shuttle bus. 15 Consider pushing back some class times Or being able to come in late to class as excused since the buses would be backed up with traffic 6/11/2016 2:33 PM 6/11/2016 12:06 PM 16 Just make it possible to easily get to Trinity from NoMa & Fort Totten. There is no excuse not to get to Trinity. 6/11/2016 11:39 AM 17 Operate shuttle from West Hyattsville station on the Green Line. 6/11/2016 11:17 AM 18 Can night classes start at 7PM instead of 6:30? 6/11/2016 9:48 AM 19 Telework 6/11/2016 9:48 AM 20 Maybe provide a shuttle bus that goes to Columbia heights station, which is the closest metro station. Those who take metro can get off of Columbia heights station and take the Trinity shuttle. 6/10/2016 1:13 PM 21 Free parking for the students affected who choose to drive. 6/10/2016 7:44 AM 22 Consider he fact metro opens at 6am and buses are always stuck in traffic no matter how early you get up 6/8/2016 8:24 AM 23 In addition to flextime, consider telework options for those staff positions where teleworking is feasible. 1) Managers and staff would agree on telework deliverables. 2) Managers would monitor telework productivity. 3) Staff may prepare a telework report and provide supporting evidence of telework activity. Consider Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays as telework days, as these are already high traffic days in the Metro DC area. 6/7/2016 5:01 PM 24 Provide additional on-campus parking options including a shuttle from back lots 6/7/2016 4:33 PM 25 I'm not sure that flex time would be an option but staggering the hours may help reduce the amount of traffic on the roads. More traffic will only ensure longer commute times and an increase in the stress level of everyone after a long commute. However, if it's only 23 days than I think people would appreciate the telecommuting option one day a week. You may in fact see greater productivity in entire Trinity community if people are put to the challenge of allowing all of their resources to really work for them. It would also build the confidence of commitment of the Trinity community as a whole. 26 For graduate study classes that meet on Friday evenings, it would be great to make them online for Friday night since Friday is a shorter class period and traffic will be heavy. 6/7/2016 4:30 PM 6/7/2016 3:55 PM 27 Provide shuffle bus bridge from Columbia Heights. 6/7/2016 2:46 PM 28 Provide Shuttle buses from Metro Center and Gallery Place. 6/7/2016 2:44 PM 29 Shuttle from union station 6/7/2016 2:37 PM 30 Free/discounted/accessible BikeShare (the red bikes) Put them on campus 6/7/2016 2:18 PM 31 Instruct supervisors to encourage their direct reports to work with supervisors to come up with teleworking plans when possible: Some work can be completed from home for many members of staff, even though generally not all can. 32 For a while now, I believed that since there are more than one shuttle buses, the buses should go to places that students go very often such as Rhode Island and Union Station. Having shuttle buses to the places not only make people feel safer but it would be convenient during and after the safe track program. 6/7/2016 2:15 PM 6/7/2016 2:10 PM 33 Make more parking available 6/7/2016 2:10 PM 10 / 10
