Strategic Vision Deliver an affordable, integrated, safe, responsive and sustainable transport system. Support economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being Manage incremental change in transport and land use systems by applying a hierarchy of interventions Position infrastructure and land development to meet the city s long term needs.

Strategic Approach Hamilton has been implementing best practice in integrated transport planning since 1996: Hamilton Integrated Transport Strategy (1996) Hamilton Alternatives to Roading Study (2004) Access Hamilton (2005) Access Hamilton 2010 is a review of the existing strategic direction taking into account national, regional and local changes since 2005 and looks ahead to 2040.
