Custom-Built Awnings Construction & Installation of Awning... 3 5 Many people get overwhelmed with the concept of installing the brackets and the work that goes into using the awning from race to race. Installing awning brackets is pretty simple. It takes just a few hand tools and a few hours to install the awning brackets and zipper rail. Once installed, most awnings are able to be put up and taken down in about 30 minutes. DMP awnings come standard with quick connect/disconnect ends that allow the entire framework to be installed from the ground. In fact, many of our customers install the entire awning without having to climb on the roof of the trailer. It s just five easy steps! Install awning cover and connect to zipper flap. Cover installation can be performed using ladders from the ground or from the roof of the trailer. 1 Lay-out framework and use quick connect ends to affix to trailer and supplied pins to connect A-frames. 2 Connect additional anchor zipper mounts to A-frame poles. 5 Install zipper flap along zipper rail. Many teams choose to permanently affix the flap to the trailer to save additional install time. Attach anchor straps, tighten down and the installation process is complete in about 30 minutes!
