Family & Consumer Science Mason County Extension Homemakers Newsletter March 2017 From Your FCS Agent Cooperative Extension Service Mason County 800 US Highway 68 Maysville, KY 41056 (606) 564-6808 Fax: (606) 564-9226 extension.ca.uky.edu Can you believe we are already three months into the year? We are almost to spring! Spring is always so nice as the flowers start to bloom and everything is turning green again. We have several programs coming up soon, so keep an eye out for information on those! Registration packets for KEHA state meeting are available in the front office of the extension office. During the month of February, I held the first session of Keys to Great Parenting, taught a lesson on cupcake decorating to a group of 4-H members in Bracken County, and taught the Live, Laugh, and Learn Playdate. We had 6 children attend. We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar, made butterfly crafts, and had assorted fruits as our snack! I also attended a week long session of in-service trainings to gain knowledge on programs and ideas to help us better succeed. I look forward to implementing some of these in Mason County! I taught a lesson social media safety to the grandparents as parents group at the Mason County Public Library and ended the month shadowing the FCS agent in Montgomery County. If you would like to start receiving this newsletter electronically through email, please call the extension office at 606-564-6808 and have them add you to the list. Heather Cheek County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences
