Summary of project The project is designed to create a base where young people from different backgrounds, cultures and countries, are able to share their experiences, opinions and learn new things from each other. We will create a platform to develop an intercultural dialogue that will helps us appreciate the diversity and the strengthening of social cohesion. Experience exchanged between the youngsters will promote people's ability to get along with others by respecting individual desires, opinions, diversity, dignity, tolerance and solidarity. The project s theme is designed to support the mutual understanding in the actual context, which is tense in some pars of the world. "Photo Life" brings together a mixed ability group of young people, including young people with fewer opportunities, from Romania, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Croatia, Estonia (5 participants and a team leader from each participating country, we also need 3 person from Romania in order to achieve technical requirements of photo-shooting) for a week that will change the idea, skills and activities all centered around the art of photography to overcome barriers of culture by looking us to 4 different buildings with special significance and we can admire both internal and external arhitecture. These buildings will be: The Church of Moeciu de Jos, Bran Castle, Rasnov, Black Church - Brasov. The project will provide the opportunity to understand different cultures and to create the right atmosphere for personal development. So the participants will be able to overcome their barriers, and become more proud of their European identity and European citizenship. We will promote tolerance among our youth, the latter will combine with mutual understanding between people from different countries. During these four visits, the participants will be able to think in depth about each denomination, the impact it has on people's culture, about values and beliefs, about cohesion s community. Also they will have two days of photography that they will capture photos using photo cameras. During the visit they will make photos to emphasize cultures, values, respect.

Moieciu is a commune in Braşov County, Romania. It is located 29 km south of Braşov, within the Bran Pass. The commune is composed of six villages: Cheia, Drumul Carului, Măgura, Moieciu de Jos (the commune center- the place of the project), Moieciu de Sus and Peştera. Măgura and Peştera are on the eastern side of the Piatra Craiului Mountains. The landscape surrounding the area is wonderful and in the winter tourists from all over come to spend their holidays here. The entire area is full of history and legends. At only 3 km, you can visit the one of the most famous castles in the world Bran Castle the residence of Dracula. Bran Castle Transport: Arrival in Bucharest will be at the Henri Coanda Airport (OTP) (http://www.bucharestairports.ro/index.php?lang=en). Use the buses 783 (main square) and 780 (main train station) to go to the city (you have ticket vendors in the station) or the train that will take you to Gara de Nord main train station (via a shuttle bus). At the airport everything is quite easy to figure out and buses to the city are functioning non-stop even through the night. As a piece of advice, don t change too much money inside the airport (5-10 euro is more than enough to get your whole group to the city!) and don t take any taxis, especially if the taxi driver approaches you in the Arrivals Hall! The arrival day to Bucharest must be 24.03.2014, until 16:00 in the afternoon! If, for some reasons you cannot manage to find tickets with arrival in the morning or at noon, please email us and we will find a solution for you! The arrival hour is like this because we need to leave for Moieciu de Jos,in the evening around 18:00-19:00. The meeting point will be in Henri Coanda Airport ( we can manage the travel for you). The departure back to Bucharest will be on31 July in the morning, so make sure you have flights that leave around 12:00 at the earliest! Please bring with you all original receipts, invoices, e-tickets, proof of payment and boarding passes! We strongly encourage you to buy flights that have the possibility to do online check-in and in this way you will be able to give us the return boarding passes as well, without having to send its to us by post when you return home! Of course, if for your airline is not possible, you still need to send us the boarding passes by post after the project. It is very important to have all your travel and financial documents with you for each person, otherwise the reimbursement is not possible! The amounts of money for travel, per person, per country are as following: Country 70% of travel costs (max) Cehia 140 Croatia 220 Estonia 230 Lituania 226

No Visa is required for EU citizens, participants will need to have only valid ID card or international passport. The group: We need 6 participants (5+1 leader) from each of the countries Romania, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Croatia, Estonia. Age limits for the participants are 18-25 years old. In exceptional cases the age of some participants can be between 26 and 30, but please contact us before to make sure we are allowed by our National Agency to receive them! We will be a total of 33 because the Romanian team will be composed of 9 participants due to logistical reasons.

Rules: You are expected to participate fully in all activities, unless you are ill. Unauthorized absence from activities and workshops won t be allowed. We would really appreciate energetic and active participation. Smoking is prohibited inside of the buildings, so all smokers will have to leave the building in case they want to smoke a cigarette. What to bring: - All your travel documents and financial statements/proofs of payment; - Typical food and drinks from your countries! We will have traditional evenings during the project and basically every evening will belong to a different country. Unfortunately we don t have budget to reimburse you the expenses made for the things that you are bringing, but try to be creative and funny! You can bring typical costumes, ornaments, leaflets, posters, flyers, food, sweets, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and so on! Also, you can show videos, photos, sing music and dance traditional dances from your countries! We are counting on you to make these evenings as interesting as possible and promise to help you in any way that we can!!! - Research about photography and social cohesion in your countries. It would be wise to look into the matter before coming to Romania and during the work sessions explain and give practical examples from your countries about good photography and social cohesion practices. Fee : 20 euro / person. About Romania: Bring with you photo and video camera!!! With a surface area of 238,391 square kilometres (92,043 sq mi), Romania is the largest country in southeastern Europe and the twelfth-largest in Europe. Romania's terrain is distributed roughly equally between mountainous, hilly and lowland territories. The Carpathian Mountains dominate the centre of Romania, with 14 mountain ranges reaching above 2,000 m/6,600 ft, and the highest point at Moldoveanu Peak (2,544 m/8,346 ft). These are surrounded by the Moldavian and Transylvanian plateaus and Pannonian and Wallachian plains. Romania's geographical diversity has led to an accompanying diversity of flora and fauna. The Danube flows into the Black Sea within Romania's territory forming the Danube Delta, the second largest and best preserved delta in Europe, and also a biosphere reserve and a biodiversity World Heritage Site. Owing to its distance from the open sea and position on the southeastern portion of the European continent, Romania has a climate that is transitional between temperate and continental, with four

distinct seasons. The average annual temperature is 11 C (52 F) in the south and 8 C (46 F) in the north. A high percentage (47% of the land area) of the country is covered with natural and semi-natural ecosystems. Since almost half of all forests in Romania (13% of the country) have been managed for watershed conservation rather than production, Romania has one of the largest areas of undisturbed forest in Europe. The integrity of Romanian forest ecosystems is indicated by the presence of the full range of European forest fauna, including 60% and 40% of all European brown bears and wolves, respectively. There are also almost 400 unique species of mammals (of which Carpathian chamois are best known), birds, reptiles and amphibians in Romania. The fauna consists of 33,792 species of animals, 33,085 invertebrate and 707 vertebrate. There are almost 10,000 km2 (3,900 sq mi) (about 5% of the total area) of protected areas in Romania covering 13 national parks and three biosphere reserves: the Danube Delta, Retezat National Park, and Rodna National Park. The Danube Delta Reserve Biosphere is the largest and least damaged wetland complex in Europe, covering a total area of 5,800 km2 (2,200 sq mi).
