Mensaje del Presidente A big warm summer Hola to all Chapter 8 members and friends! 2014 Escapade in Goshen was a big success for Chapter 8 again! Our Row booth was ably manned by Lynn and Mickey Waite and 2015 Wagonmasters Annemarie and Peter Arnold with lots of interest shown in the Rally. Maryke and I gave our Escape to Mexico digital slide show and talk as Seminar Speakers on the last day of the Escapade to a good crowd of people interested in Mexico travel and the Chapter 8 "Fiesta" social followed immediately thereafter with almost everyone enjoying the good food and drink provided by the Arnold's and getting their Mexico questions answered by veteran Chapter 8 members. The 2015 Rally will be in Bahia Kino, Sonora in February before the 2015 Escapade in Tucson, Arizona. A team has already scouted the Rally site and campground facility in Kino Bay (as we gringos call it!) and the Arnold's will do a final scouting trip this Fall. Watch the Chapter 8 website <mexicanconnection08.com> for complete details as they are confirmed. It's going to be a great Rally in a very interesting, non- touristy, safe Mexican seaside village right on the Sea of Cortes. Make plans to sign up later this year and come along on another great adventure with us! After the Escapade, Maryke and I drove East slowly and just drove back across the U.S.- Canadian border yesterday after four amazing days in Quebec City, Canada enjoying a beautiful very old city (founded in 1608) and of course, good food and drink and a terrific campground! We are back in Maine now enjoying nice sunny weather and spending a few days in Acadia National Park. We're heading south to visit relatives in various East Coast states then heading back home in July to our home base in good old Washington State. We hope you're all having a very good summer followed, we hope, by a mild winter, and then another great trip to Mexico and its friendly people in early 2015! Buen Viaje! Lin and Maryke Hines, 2014-15 Chapter 8 Co- Presidents Membership Update Chapter 8 has now 140 paid- up members, but the emailing list is a lot longer. This winter I will send out an email to all the "expired" memberships in the hope many people will renew. Maryke Hines, Membership Chair 4

UPDATE FROM 2014 ESCAPADE IN GOSHEN, INDIANA Hola Chapter 8 Board Members from Goshen, Indiana! First of all we want to thank Lynn, Mickey, Anne Marie and Peter for representing Chapter 8 at the Row and the Mexican Connection Social during this 2014 Escapade. You also did a great job promoting the 2015 Kino Bay Rally, and seeing the many sheets of names and emails you collected, we definitely had a lot of people interested in going on the Rally. Although we didn't sign up any new Chapter 8 members yet, many people picked up the new Chapter 8 flyer and the write- up on the rally, so it looks like memberships will follow. We had a terrific turnout with more people at the "Escape to Mexico" seminar and the immediately following Chapter 8 Fiesta than the last few years. It really works well to open up the Social immediately (not waiting the 1/2 hour that the program showed) after the seminar and get all the seminar people involved as well as others coming in later. There were lots of good questions about how the chapter and our rallies work at the Social. Lin and Maryke Hines Peter Arnold, Ann Marie Arnold and Lynn Waite 5

Greeting from your Wagon Master Team, We bring you greeting from Connecticut, our 'home state' when we had a stick house. Our family is here, we attended our youngest Granddaughter's HS graduation. We've been Boondocking in friends lots and a church parking lot in Bristol, CT. Since our last letter, Anne- Marie had successful back surgery and we have replaced our 5 th wheel with a 2004 Bounder. It's a bit of a fixer upper, it's progressing nicely. I'm hoping to find a painter in Kino Bay. We were pleased with the interest shown on The Row at Escapade. Many thanks to Lynn and Micky Waite for their help. We have a contact list developed there, please send us contact info if you are not receiving communications from us. Please join the Mexican Connection group that we have set- up on Facebook. Lots of folks are critical of Facebook, we have found it to be very helpful when large groups of people need to network. When you ask to join, the administrator {Peter at the present} will authorize you to post. This cuts the trash posts. We have proposed a 17 day visit to Kino Bay, we've received favorable comments from members who want a longer more relaxing rally. We will schedule 3 dinners and a bus tour of Hermosillo. I'm sure that fishing trip(s), Golfing and other touring will become available when we make our pre- run in late October following the Boondocker Rally at Balloon Fiesta New Mexico. If you would like to join us on the pre- run you would be most welcome! Our cost projection is $550 to $600 for this 17 day Rally. Our cost estimating is complicated by the reluctance of the vendors to give us hard quoted so far in advance. This will be resolved during our pre- run in the fall. From Susie and Denny Orr, Hi Fellow SKPs - - - Summer time is a great time to take those long planned and thought about RV trips. Last summer we enjoyed Alaska. This summer we are traveling to the Maritimes of NE Canada. We can always check the travel brochures for places to see, but we have always enjoyed talking to those who have gone before us or actually live in the area for travel advice. the best list of things not to be missed from folks that have actually been there before. When we visit at rallies, we not only enjoy meeting new SKP Friends, but also talking to others to learn about their favorite places. So our itinerary is set in Jell- O, but the destination is firm. We hope you too are headed for new adventures this summer. And if not the summer, fall and winter are also great travel seasons. Get that RV rolling for new adventures - - - SKP Hugs Susie & Denny Orr Hello SKP Secretaries: A bit early, but a reminder to please send your changes for the magazine to Departmentseditor@escapees.com by July 10 for the Sept/Oct issue of Escapees Magazine. New Rally Dates/Location New Officers New Luncheon information/location/contact The magazine also welcomes pictures and/or short write- up for your upcoming special events. Hello SKP Membership Chairpersons - - - - Thank you for helping your chapter to grow and maintain membership. Remember if you would like a list of members in your geographical area just let us know. You can use this list to invite all SKPs in your area to your next rally/luncheons and to check on current Escapees membership for your roster. As a reminder In order to be a member of a chapter/c- bof, the member should be a current Escapees member in good standing (dues paid and current). Non Escapees are welcome to attend 2 Escapees events, then should decide if they want to be a member or not. It is not fair to current Escapees, paying their dues and membership, to have non Escapees persons enjoying the same benefits without being an actual member. We will be in Canada for the next 2 months. If you have questions, please be patient, as we will not always have good internet service. We will answer as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience in advance. SKP Hugs Susie & Denny Orr 7

KINO BAY VISIT AND CHARITY UPDATE We scouted Kino Bay with the Boles in February. The resort has mostly fifty amp service at each site, with water and sewer at all sites. The resort has a large building around a courtyard with a game room, living room, exercise equipment and kitchen.there is an area to dry camp. It is an easy trip since three fourths of the roads to Keno Bay are four lane roads. The area with the resort has homes and condos, restaurants and some shops. The resort is across the road from miles of sandy beach. The weather was in the 70's to upper 80's during our stay in February. The town of old Kino Bay is a fishing village and a 10 plus minute drive from the Keno Bay resort. This will be a great trip for the large motor homes. I have scouted the various Charities. The priest at the Catholic Church is building a soup kitchen. He will be needing cooking supplies for it. Carolyn Kinsman who lives at the resort will let me know of Padre Pipo's needs. The Red Cross in old Keno has a need for medical equipment because so many fishermen have disabilities from diving for shell fish. Their needs are: finger oxygen monitors, wheelchairs, walkers (have 3), canes ( have 2), and a cardiac defibrillator. There is a program that feeds children breakfast before school. It has increased school attendance by over 80 %. This would be a great program for a money. School supplies are always needed. Club Deportivo oversees the distribution of school supplies. Good working computers are always needed. God Bless, Sue Schaffer 8

NOTES FROM MADAM SECRETARY: Below is a very nice "Thank You" note from the Foundation for His Ministry in Ensenada for our donation. I will keep the original in the secretary's files. Have a great spring and summer! Orene Have a great summer! 9
