School Bus Guide 2018-2019
Denefield School Bus Guide 5 Star Service Dear Parents / Carers, 2018-2019 We are pleased to be able to introduce to you our revised School Bus Guide for Denefield School for the 2018 / 2019 academic year. Service will depart from Denefield School five minutes earlier in the afternoons due to the school day now ending earlier. Unfortunately, due to low usage, services 18S and 28S will no longer provide a link between Denefield School and Pangbourne. If your child needs to make this journey, we recommend contacting West Berkshire Council to discuss alternative travel options. Service 991 will also be withdrawn following Reading Borough Council' s decision to stop providing funding for this service. Passengers travelling from the area may be able to use service instead, whilst passengers elsewhere along the route are advised to catch an alternative Reading Buses service into the town centre, and change onto service. Denefield School is served by our Sky Blue and services, which stop inside the school grounds. As the largest bus operator in Reading, Reading Buses recognises its role in transporting school pupils to and from school. We aim to transport school pupils in comfort and safety, and at an affordable price, and we welcome school pupils on all of our bus services. Our network of services is extensive, and pupils can access Denefield School on direct buses from Central Reading, Oxford Road, and Dee Park. We also have some great value fare options for pupils, and all of our smartcard bus passes include travel on other Reading Buses services, meaning that your child can travel in the evenings and at weekends as well as to and from school. You can find further information online at denefield.vectare.co.uk; this website contains timetable and fare information, and you can also search for your closest bus stop if you are unsure about where it is. The website now allows you to track your buses as they move, so you will always know when your bus is due to arrive. If you have any further questions, please get in touch with our friendly customer services team who will be happy to help. We operate a fleet of modern, easy-to-board buses, all fitted with free WiFi so your child can stay online on the move. We use dedicated drivers who work on the same routes, and all of our Silverstars bus services are driven by Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked drivers for your peace of mind. All buses also have CCTV on board to enhance safety and security. We have a great range of passes for individual terms or the whole year, so there' s no need for your child to carry cash. All buses have GPS on-board, so you can track the bus live on an interactive map and see when it s due to arrive! Keep updated through your mobile! Sign up for free text alerts on our website and stay informed about any delays or issues with your route direct from our control room. You can also track your bus through our app - search ' Reading Buses' and download it now from the App Store or Google Play.
