The participants will have the opportunity to learn new construction and maintenance techniques, new design methodology and the latest developments in equipment and materials. The Seminar will feature international experts who will share their experience and knowledge. This is a key event for airport infrastructure managers, engineers, technicians, consultants and all of those who provide services related to the aviation industry. The main objective of this event is to exchange technical experience, consequently, all the participants will have the possibility of improving airport pavements and thus contribute to maintain the safety of airports in the Region. The technical sessions will be provided by speakers with a vast experience on airport subject matters. Also, this Seminar will provide the opportunity to delegates to participate in a quick course for airfield pavement maintenance. Civil aviation authorities, airport operators, international organizations regional representatives, professors (academic), consultants, contractors, etc., are invited. For the Aeronautical Authority representatives, please fill out the ICAO registration format following their instructions and return to the sender as soon as possible. Median humidity is 64% with high probability of rain. 7. Transportation from and to the airport Authorized taxi service is available at Tocumen International Airport. The fare to the hotels and vice versa is approximately US$25.00 and US$32.00 (additional person sharing ride US$12.00). Fares can be confirmed at the counter near the exit from the terminal. ICAO / ALACPA General Information 10. Passport, visa and vaccines A valid passport and visa is required for admittance to the country; nevertheless, it is necessary to corroborate with the Embassy or Consulate of Panama about these requirements. Additionally, please verify if yellow fever or any other vaccines are necessary. 11. Currency and credit cards The US dollar is the currency used in Panama. International credit cards such as American Express, Master Card, VISA, Diners Club, etc. are usually accepted at hotels, stores and restaurants. Traveller checks should be cashed at banks or money exchange offices. It is recommended to have dollars and balboas in cash to pay for taxis and, occasionally, at stores which do not accept credit cards. 12. Hospitals The Tourism Authority of Panama (Autoridad de Turismo de Panama) offers a Free Medical Insurance to all visitors entering the country for 30 days which includes medical emergencies, hospitalization (if required) and legal expenses for loss of documents due to an accident. In order to obtain medical benefits please request the Insurance Card for Tourists from the Tourism Authority office located in the immigration area at Tocumen International Airport or call the client service at Seguros Generalli, phones 800-4357 or 206-5700.
