CLUB ASTORIA Club Astoria Newsletter August 2015 Welcome!! Our Events Calendar has been so full -It is hard to know where to start with the roundup of happenings at the Club! Above all it has been a lot of fun too! The Executive has been out and about representing the Club and we have had many guests come and visit and join us for our Events. In turn our members have been to Teutonia Club to enjoy Schutzenfest and Schlachfest. The Committee decided on a change of date for the AGM. We thought it more considerate to be during the day rather than at night. We had an excellent turnout for the Sunday afternoon all the re-nominating Committee were duly re-elected. Thanks to all the Committee who generously give of their time for the benefit of our Club. On a sadder note we farewelled Christa Nehls. Her friendship was endeared to so many members of our Club and she will be sadly missed. Special thanks to Wolfgang Meinhardt, Frank Haska and Herman Wasmayr for extending the outside bar in preparation for Oktoberfest. Preparations are well underway please let the Committee know if you are able to help. After many years of dedicated service to our Club we have had many retirements from the cake roster. There is still discussion on how we will service the Club with Coffee and Cake in the New Year. ~ Contact Us ~ CLUB ASTORIA MARYVALE CRESCENT P.O. The Tivoli Chorale were in fine voice to entertain the many invited guests. Willy Meuller was also in fine voice entertaining us at our Schlachfest. The food was beautiful (as always) and it was great to see so many members make the most of the afternoon. Thanks to all who made the day possible it is very much appreciated.
