PASS sessions are facilitated by experienced students (PASS leaders) and offer a relaxed peer environment, where students can consolidate their understanding of the course content and develop their study skills. PASS is usually attched to courses that can be challenging for students. Many of these courses are core first year courses students encounter in the first and second semester of their transition to university life. PASS is a valuable opportunity for students to seek advice in a friendly, relaxed environment, the sessions are designed to be informal, flexible and fun. PASS sessions are available at our Berwick, Ballarat and Gippsland campuses and for all online students. BALLARAT EVENTS + ACTIVITIES Ballarat African Association Cultural Festival The Ballarat African Assoication are hosting an African cultural festival on 24th February in association with the Victoria Police and Department of Premier and Cabinet to promote social cohesion in the Ballarat region and surrounding areas. The event is free and is open to all members of the public. It is a family friendly event so please bring along your children for a variety of activities and food throughout the day. The event starts at 12pm and will conclude at 8pm. It will be hosted at the Albert Coates Bistro, Federation University, Mount Helen campus. Grampians Day Trip Join us for a day at the Grampians- one of Victoria s finest tourist attractions. Discover grand and rugged mountain ranges, spectacular wildflower displays, and a wide range of outdoor recreational opportunities in the Grampians National Park. The day trip will cost $10 per student. Saturday 24th February March 3rd - all day There will the opportunity for students to camp over night and experience the real Aussies outback for $30 per person - there are limited places available so please register early! https://grampiansmarchdaytrip.eventbrite.com.au Ballarat Wildlife Park Get familiar with Australian animals as we take you to the Ballarat Wildlife Park for a true Australian experience. The Ballarat Wildlife Park specializes in native Australian animals and a wide variety of exotic reptiles, from free roaming kangaroos, koalas, wombats, Tasmanian devils, eagles, giant tortoises, crocodiles and alligators to a large display of lizards and both venomous and non-venomous snakes. GIPPSLAND Latrobe Valley Maltese Festa Kernot Hall, Morwell from 10am - 4pm EVENTS + ACTIVITIES Saturday 17th February The Latrobe Valley Maltese Festa celebrates all things Maltese - bringing a taste of the Mediterranean to Morwell! The day will be filled with Maltese entertainment, exhibitions and stalls. Come and experience traditional food and drink, including the Festival s own speciality produced wine and be entertained with live music both in and outside Kernot Hall. The first Maltese Festa in 2016 attracted 4500 people. 2018 is going to be even bigger so make sure you save the date and get to Kernot Hall on Saturday 17th February. Boolarra Folk Festival 2018 Christian St Boolarra from 10am - 8pm Saturday 3rd March FREE EVENT The Boolarra Folk Festival is a FREE annual community event held in the beautiful country township of Boolarra. The next Boolarra Folk Festival will be held on saturday 3rd March, 2018. Please come along and enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, whilst enjoying some of the fantastic live music. Our Art, Craft and Food Market will once again provide visitors with the opportunity to discover the work of many local artisians. Rising Waters Interactive Horror Experience $39 a ticket for more information go to: www.huntedexperience.com 22-25th March A scary experience suitable for audiences 15 years or older. This a walk-around performance, where small groups move through the story at a time. Be part of the script as you walk around and interact with the actors. This is different - be prepared to be scared! LOCATED AT A SECRET LOCATION IN TRARALGON! You will receive a location map via email along with your tickets.
