The airport experienced positive passenger growth for the 20th consecutive month with respect to the year over year monthly increases. In January 2017, RNO was served by eight airlines providing 1,637 departures to 20 nonstop destinations (23 nonstop destinations if seasonal and new announced flights are included). At RNO, total seat capacity increased 10.2% and flights increased 13.7% when compared to January 2016. In January 2017, RNO handled 12,749,916 pounds of air cargo, an increase of 6.8% versus January 2016. On December 19, 2016, Delta Air Lines began nonstop seasonal flights between RNO and Atlanta International Airport. The flight operates once a week, Saturday arrival and Sunday departure, and will operate until March 26, 2017. The airline is utilizing a 180seat Boeing 757 on this route. Southwest Airlines began once a week seasonal nonstop flights between RNO and Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL) on January 7, 2017. Starting March 12, 2017, the airline will increase the number of flights between RNO and DAL from one flight a week to two flights a week. The additional flight will operate on Sundays. Starting February 5, 2017, Allegiant Air increased the number of flights between RNO and Las Vegas from three times a week to six times a week. The airline provides this service from Sunday through Friday. Starting June 4, 2017, Southwest Airlines will offer daily, nonstop service to Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC), adding to the summer travel options
between Reno and the Bay Area. The RNOSJC is currently served by Alaska Airlines on 76seat Q400 aircraft. Starting June 8, 2017, United Airlines will offer daily, nonstop seasonal service to Chicago O Hare International Airport (ORD), adding to the summer travel options between Reno and Chicago. In January 2017, JetBlue Airways reported a passenger growth of 199.2% (mainly due to the new flights to Long Beach), Allegiant Air was up 92.3%, Alaska Airlines grew 15.8% and Delta Air Lines reported an increase of 8.7% when compared to the same period last year. Volaris served 4,749 passengers during the month of January 2017, an increase of 30.1% when compared to January 2016. United Airlines reported a passenger decrease of 17.0%, while American Airlines was down 11.5% during the same period. This yearoveryear decrease was driven by equipment downgauge on the RenoPhoenix and RenoSan Francisco routes. Cargo In January 2017, the cargo tonnage of UPS was up 14.1%, DHL grew 10.1% and FedEx reported an increase of 2.9% when compared to January 2016.

Volaris operated three times a week scheduled flights between Reno and Guadalajara, Mexico. Recent and Upcoming Schedule Changes American Airlines American Airlines temporarily suspended the daily nonstop flight between Reno and Chicago O Hare on January 8, 2017. The airline resumes the daily schedule on February 16, 2017. Delta Air Lines Delta Air Lines operated the daily nonstop seasonal flights between Reno and Minneapolis from December 22, 2016, through January 1, 2017. This flight will return during the summer season. Starting January 3, 2017, Delta Air Lines reduced the number of daily nonstop flights between RNO and Salt Lake City from four times a day to three times a day. The airline returned to the four flights a day schedule on March 2, 2017. JetBlue Airways The nonstop flight between Reno and New York City will operate five days a week (Thursday Monday) from January 5, 2017, through February 15, 2017, before returning to the daily schedule. Southwest Airlines (seasonal reduction) The daily nonstop flight between Reno and Chicago Midway was temporarily suspended on November 6, 2016. This flight will return on March 9, 2017. United Airlines (seasonal increase) United Airlines operated daily nonstop flights between Reno and Houston Intercontinental Airport from December 16, 2016, through January 3, 2017. The flight returned as a twice a week service, Saturday and Sunday, on January 7, 2017, and is available through the end of summer. Volaris The nonstop flight between Reno and Guadalajara, Mexico operates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
