I got an unexpected phone call last week, from a man who's father just passed away & he has a lot of cars & parts to sell. He is on his father's 40 acre property, about 30 east of Reno, on I 80, Wadsworth, NV Arthur (Art) Beach, Jr. 928-925-8714 Please call between 9 am & 9 PM. BOTH TOM KLEMENT & GARY THOMPSON have been to Nevada to see & buy cars & parts. I went there today, good bargains. If you re looking for Ford Parts, engines, innards, etc. Fenders, radiator shells, radiators, clutch cores, 42 Ford Tudor sedan,32 Plymouth Sedan, all there, hoods, fenders, doors, Great Ford and Dodge Speed Equipment. Also Chrysler hemi stuff, saw two engines &V8 60 parts and speed equipment. Lots of flathead innards, cams, flywheels, etc, plus flat head aluminum manifolds and head sets. Good stuff! Tom K Gary & Tom both think it's worth a trip to Nevada. Gary warned me that you crawl over a bumpy dirt road at 5 miles an hour, but it is definitely worth it. Acres & acres, with no rhyme or reason to where everything is. No electricity & no bathrooms, just a trailer in the middle of nowhere. Take a rugged truck & trailer with you. They want cash or you can pay with PayPal. (No electricity ~ Wonder how they do PayPal?) Art Jr. is knowledgeable about the stuff, the sisters know nothing about it. Gary has some good tips on buying from them. Some of the stuff is very reasonable, others, not so much. Gary was there for 6 hours! That ought to give you a clue about how much stuff is there. I suggest you call either Gary 916 652-0701 or Tom (916) 488-7887 before you go! :o)charlotte

Charlotte s Chatter The Board of Directors have been doing a lot of pre work and planning for our Swap Meet on September 11th at Consumes River College. Every big event we have, the Board spends hours planning and thing to have everything ready so the members can just step into the right place & we can perform all the necessary jobs needed to complete a satisfying event. Already the Board has spent hours working to make the Swap Meet successful. One of the differences this year is our members will no longer get any free space for their wears. Each member will be required to pay $20 for each space they use. Last year we were forced to move from our normal corner of the campus to a much different spot on campus. Because of this, we had limited spaces to sell to venders and had to turn some away. But we will be back in our normal place this year and should have plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Something I ve wanted to tell you about, but was forbidden to mention it, is: Jean Davis has had SHINGLES since April 18th. But since she came out to the Hot Dog BBQ at Wm. Pond Park, I am going to let the cat out of the bag. If you don t know, Shingles is a result of chicken pox in childhood. It goes down into your spine and hibernates there, until it comes back as Shingles. A rash, that looks a lot like shingles on a roof, is inflamed and it effects the nerves near the top layer of skin. No one knows when it will appear or how long the rash will last. Then, no one knows when the nerves will stop the horrible pain that can continue long after the rash is gone. You can get vaccinated to prevent this from happening. Kaiser gives it to you for free. Some drugstores offer it be given on certain days for a fee. Don t wait! This is one miserable thing to get! I got my vaccination a couple years ago. Last month I forgot to tell you a Long Time member, Jack Gormley, died. Jack had several beautiful cars & motorcycles. I know Sara misses him and our hearts go out to her & the family. See all of you when we meet with the Clarksburg Antique Airplane Club on July 9th. Everyone bring your own meat to BBQ & a dish to share. The Airplane Club graciously share their airplane carport & we have a great time! There has always been a gentle breeze that keeps the heat down. :o)charlotte
