World Tourism Organisation World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) is the most widely recognised and the leading international organisation in travel and tourism today. It is a specialised agency of the United Nations. It serves as a global forum for tourism policy and a practical source of tourism know-how. With its headquarters in Madrid, Spain the World Tourism Organisation plays a central and decisive role in promoting development of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism, with the aim of contributing to economic development, international understanding, peace prosperity and universal respect for and observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms.

Like most travel organizations, PATA helps develop destinations for tourism by providing advice, plans travel schemes, and provides information - especially through its journal Pacific Travel News. Governments as well as other tourist industry plays can be members of PATA.

Activities of IATA IATA is an organization of almost all international air carriers - it aims to represent and serve the world airline industry. It helps organize safe and convenient international air travel for people as well as freight. IATA tries to standardize tickets, baggage checks, accounting procedures; it is also involved in industry support, environmental issues, consumer issues, regulation, legal monitoring. Through these, it links the several air carriers into a unified service system. Thus, International Air Transport Association (IATA) is the trade association for the world s airlines, representing some 240 airlines or 84% of total air traffic. International Civil Aviation Organization : ICAO
What is ICAO? ICAO is an organization of governments joined to promote safety and efficiency in civil aviation worldwide. It formulates and implements standards and practices, laws concerning civil aviation, navigation plans etc. The ICAO Council adopts standards and recommended practices concerning air navigation, its infrastructure, flight inspection, prevention of unlawful interference, and facilitation of border-crossing procedures for international civil aviation. ICAO defines the protocols for air accident investigation followed by transport safety authorities in countries signatory to the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention).
