Next you drive towards Lake Taupo and after taking in some fantastic scenery proceed to Turangi from where the Desert Road starts which is a highway that crosses the alpine desert and the inhospitable weather makes it an interesting route to drive along. Each side of the Desert Road is covered with wonderful low scrublands and on the western rise the majestic backdrop of Mt Ruapehu, Mt Tongariro and Mt Ngauruhoe. There are some plenty of lake-edge stops for photographs, through the beauty of Tongariro National Park while you now proceed towards Wellington. Also view the Huka Falls. At Huka Falls you can witness the phenomenon of natural hydro power. Enroute stop for your lunch. DAY 07 Proceed from Mt. Cook to Wanaka. You may choose to experience the Tasman Glacier. Enjoy Puzzling world. Today post breakfast you will check out from your hotel and you may proceed to experience the Tasman Glacier; New Zealand s largest and one of the only accessible glacial lakes containing icebergs in the world! Travel to the Tasman Valley, followed by a alpine walk through the moraine and National Park. The experienced guide will whisk you away across the rapidly growing terminal lake in a stable MAC Boat, taking in spectacular mountain views and scenery and the melting ice-face of the Tasman Glacier.
