It is time for us to Spring into Summer at the Woodbridge Community Center (WCC), which means it is time to sign up for the best Summer Camp ever! WCC summer camps offer numerous camp options for your children. Our camps include the Highland Grove Pool & Spray Park Camp, the Woodbridge Community Center Summer Camp, Ice Skating and Gymnastics Specialty Camps, the Merrill Park Summer Camp as well as the always challenging Sports Camps in the Township! The WCC and Highland Grove Camps offer extended camp hours and sibling discounts, as well as an early bird discount! Our camps fill up quickly so stop by the WCC and sign your camper up for an affordable, fun-filled summer camp experience! Parents can also take advantage of the WCC Experience with a family or individual WCC Membership. The WCC is the perfect place for family fun and fitness all year long. The Woodbridge Community Center is at the leading edge of what s hot in the health, wellness and fitness industry. Classes include the popular Les Mills exercise classes, Zumba classes, Boot Camp fitness classes, Silver Sneakers fitness classes for Seniors and more! The WCC boasts two new fitness studios, an expanded strength/weight room, a renovated cardio room,an indoor track and a full-court gymnasium. We offer an extensive aquatics program with swim lessons for all ages and the Sea Wolves competitive swim team. CAMP DESCRIPTIONS EARLY VOYAGER CAMP TEEN CAMP Entering Grades PK-3 Entering Grades 7-9 VOYAGER CAMP Daily activities will promote a positive self image while strengthening bonds with fellow campers and counselors. Campers will participate in a variety of activities, ensuring there is something fun for everyone! Entering Grades 4-6 These traditional day camps provide fun and varied experiences for campers. Each week is planned around a fun-filled theme. Children must have celebrated their 3rd birthday by June 2018 and be fully toilet-trained. Activities include swimming, crafts, sports, lobby games, music, walking trips to an outdoor playground, roller skating and more! Campers are divided into co-ed and grade level groups. Staff is trained in CPR and First Aid. As required by the Health Department of the State of New Jersey, each child must have a Universal Health Record on file. In case of serious injury or illness, the child will be transported to a local Medical Center. All swimmers will be Tested, Tracked and Logged for future visits insuring their safety. US Coast Guard approved life jackets will be available for those requiring personal floatation devices. 3 WCC CAMP EVERYONE IS INVITED AT THE WCC
THEMES TO ENTERTAIN 1. THE MIGHTY JUNGLE (6.25-6.29) This week is for those who are wild about camp. Join us for safari themed adventures and a visit from some scaly friends. 2. PARTY IN THE USA (7.2-7.6) (NO CAMP 7.4) Stay in the 4th of July mood with a week of excitement and fun. You ll be seeing fireworks by the time you leave. 3. MAD SCIENTISTS (7.9-7.13) Campers will discover and unlock their own inner scientist while experimenting with gooey slime and creating their own rock candy. Our week will finish off with a science fair to showcase a week of innovation. 4. GLADIATOR WEEK (7.16-7.20) Compete in an outdoor obstacle course, ping pong tournament, capture the flag and many other games. Points will be tracked throughout the week leading up to our week ending celebration. 5. CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES! (7.23-7.27) Welcome to our week-long party! Celebrate National Ice Cream Day, Valentine s Day, Your UnBirthday, Cinco De Mayo, and dance in confetti at our Rockin New Year s Eve party - all in the course of 5 days. 6. BEACH BASH (7.30-8.3) We ll surf through this week with tons of water activities, tropical treats, beautiful sand art and a camp wide limbo line! 7. BACK TO THE FUTURE (8.6-8.10) Finish off camp strong, with a week full of Blasts from the Past! Each day will be dedicated to its own era, including Medieval Jousting and Sixties Tie Dye. 8. SPY SCHOOL (8.13-8.17) Are you good at spotting clues or solving puzzles? This week will be full of challenges, mystery surprises and even a camp wide scavenger hunt to put your skills to the test. Get ready for a week of twists and turns to keep you on your toes! 9. COME ON DOWN...IT S GAME SHOW WEEK (8.20-8.24) Trivia, risky deals and races against the clock finishing off with our first ever Wacky Game Show. 10. UNDER THE BIG TOP (8.27-8.31) Come one, come all and step right up to our very own circus. Complete with face painting and carnival style games, the only thing missing will be the elephants! 4

Registrations before May 1, 2018 will receive a $20.00 per week discount on full day/full week programs. Registration forms are available at the WCC and should be returned to the WCC front desk. The deadline for registrations is 12 noon the Wednesday before the start of each week of camp. Upon registration, a NON-REFUNDABLE $50.00 deposit is required for each child for each week of camp. Your child must be registered for trips by 6:00pm the day prior to the trip based on availability. Trips can be registered only for those weeks paid in full. Please choose camp programs carefully. After May 1, 2018, there is a change fee of $15 per family, per change. After registering, you will receive a Parent Packet which must be completed, NOTARIZED and returned to the WCC front desk by June 1, 2018. *Notary available upon request. PAYMENT PROCEDURES PLEASE READ CAREFULLY Camp payments are due, in full, on the following dates: Campers attending any or all of weeks 1, 2, 3: May 1, 2018 Campers attending any or all of weeks 4, 5, 6: May 22, 2018 Campers attending any or all of weeks 7, 8, 9,10: June 12, 2018 For your convenience, auto draft is available on these dates for camp payments. Authorization form must be completed upon registration. Make checks payable to the Woodbridge Community Center. There is a $20 service charge for all returned checks. Payments may also be charged to a Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit card. Once a payment is 5 days past due, a late fee of $15 per family will be charged. Campers will not be permitted to attend camp until payment is received. 5
HIGHLAND GROVE POOL & SPRAY PARK DAY CAMP HIGHLAND GROVE POOL is located at 70 Highland Terrace in Fords. Highland Grove boasts state of the art facilities including an in-ground pool, kiddie pool and spray park. Campers also have access to our playground, outdoor field and picnic areas. Our spray park has quickly become a camper favorite, offering your child a new and exciting way to cool off during the hot summer. Locker rooms have also been renovated and the facility features a large air-conditioned classroom for board games, dramatic play and crafting. Camp will be held at the Fords location, rain or shine. Supervised by well-trained counselors, this camp offers a wide range of fun activities including swimming, crafts and various other outdoor sports and games. Our pool site offers a small, intimate camp experience perfect for introducing your child to new experiences in a safe and fun setting. Don t forget it is a great friend making opportunity as well. This camp welcomes children ages 4 to 12. All campers will receive a camp T-shirt, which must be worn everyday and on field trip days. GREAT FRIEND MAKING EXPERIENCE Weekly Field trips are available for an additional cost. Campers will also enjoy weekly themes which are carefully planned by the counselors. Your child will be able to enjoy activities such as skating at the Community Center and the Spray Park at Highland Grove Pool. This variety will enable our counselors to create new activities as the summer progresses, therefore making camp new and exciting each week. 6

SPECIALTY CAMPS SPECIALTY DAY CAMPS SCHEDULE AM SPECIALTY CAMPS: 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. Drop-off begins at 8:45 am. All Specialty Camps run for five days, unless otherwise noted. For an additional fee specialty campers may also be enrolled in: Before Care: 7:00 am - 8:45 am Half Day PM Camp*: 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm After Care**: 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm *Only if also enrolled in AM Specialty Camp **Only if enrolled in Specialty and 1/2 PM Camps GYMNASTICS CAMP AM ONLY (SESSION 3) Ages 4-13 Held at Diamond Gymnastics Academy in Cranford, campers will meet at the WCC and then be transported by school bus to the facility. Each camper will be introduced to basic foundations of each piece of Olympic gymnastics equipment. Specific instruction is given to the importance of flexibility and strength training in order to gain competence of gymnastic skills. Handstands, cartwheels, roundoffs and beginnings of back-handsprings are just a few skills your child may be introduced to at the recreation instructional level. PLEASE NOTE: Campers must meet at the WCC at 8:45am to be transported to this camp. Sneakers, leotard and shorts (no baggy clothes) are required. ICE SKATING CAMP AM ONLY (SESSION 1) Ages 5-13 Whether you are looking to figure skate, play hockey or just become a recreational skater, our staff will instruct campers on the fundamentals of ice skating. Participants will develop their skating abilities as well as their joy for ice skating. 9
RECREATION DEPARTMENT DAY CAMP This year the camp will be held at Merrill Park. Our goal is that every child will have a fun, entertaining summer experience while being introduced to a variety of new activities, challenges and make new friends. Included in the week long list of activities is one morning of swimming at the Highland Grove Municipal Pool and a field trip. FEES INCLUDE: The cost of T-Shirts, field trips, Arts and Crafts, Water, Cookies, Swimming and secondary insurance. If transportation is needed, it is $50.00 per camper per week for bus transportation. Campers are required to bring lunch daily which must withstand the weather. Lunches will not be placed in a refrigerator. Camp fee is due at registration. Payment should be by cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard or Discover. Returned checks will be subject to a $20.00 processing fee. TRANSPORTATION: For those campers who choose bus transportation, a bus will be provided at a pick-up point in close proximity to their home and returned to the same area each day. Campers must register for bus service at least one week prior to camp week. RECREATION DEPARTMENT SPORTS CAMPS: Join the Recreation Department Summer Camp at our three high school campuses for a fun summer of learning sports and learning to enjoy sports! Our Summer Sports Camp will offer baseball, softball, track & field, football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis and wrestling. IN THE EVENT OF WEATHER In the event of inclement weather (rain, excessive heat, etc.) The Weather Hotline (732-602-6045) will be updated by 8:00 a.m. stating whether camp will be held in Merrill Park or Robert Mascenik School #26, 300 Benjamin Ave. Iselin, NJ 08830. If camp is to be held at School #26, bus students will be bused directly there while all other campers are to be driven directly there. Once at school, camp remains at school and pick up will be there in the afternoon. Friday mornings camp will meet at Highland Grove, 70 Highland Terrace, Fords, NJ 08863. Bus students will be bused directly there while all other campers are to be driven directly there. Buses will transport all campers back to Merrill Park at 11:30 a.m. If students do not wish to attend the pool in the morning they may be dropped off at Merrill Park at 12:00 noon to attend the rest of camp.
