Anyone else who would like to provide photos of their car and have a slideshow put on the website, he would be happy to help them with it. Old Business: Donation has been made. New Business: The idea of a photo calendar was discussed. Steve brought in a sample to show the club. Those who want a photo of their car to appear in the calendar can forward their photo to Steve or a selection of photos can be made with current photos already on file. It was suggested an amount of $250 be taken from the club account to use for creating the calendars. A show of hands approved this amount. A committee was selected in order to decide which photos to use. Committee is made up of Cindy Vining, Judy Konvalinka, Nanette Chuck and Jeanne Nelson. Once the calendar is made, then any club member can purchase the calendar if they choose. They are approximately $10.00 for a 12 month calendar. We will check into seeing if an 18-month calendar can be done. Sunshine Report: Pam indicated nothing to report at this time. Editor s Report: Ginny indicated the dessert list is done. Dudley Stone wins award at the Chico Car Show One of our charter members, Dudley Stone, who now lives in Chico, sent this picture with the back story of the beautiful 1912 Model T Ford. He acquired it before he left Sebastopol Eye Center to go into private practice in Chico. Dudley states that the T is an early 1912, motor # 112679. The split dash is late 1911 style the way it was done then. Ford kept the split dash design of 1911 going into the early 1912 cars. Dudley bought the car in Turlock in 1989 from Henry Rootlieb Sr., the founder of the Rootlieb business. He restored it himself and used it to build his business. The car was first registered in 1985. That is all the history that Dudley has except to mention that it used to be on the cover of Rootleib s early catalogues. It is restored to original (with Rootleib sheet metal and wood work), small drum rear brakes with metal pads, no Rocky Mountains, no Ruckstell, original style coils, no distributor, aluminum hogs head, clam shell rear end, etc. It runs fine, it had to run for the car show. Dudley states it wouldn t do well in traffic...so it spends most of it s time in storage. He has a container full of cars. Ed s note: Dudley has a great looking speedster that he meets us on tours with, as his time allows. Sure wish he would trailer that 1912 down for a local tour. I bet it would do just fine on tour. Trust your 1912, Dudley! We would love to see it! 8

Art Academy and Auto Museum Forty members arrived at the Park & Ride in Rohnert Park on a cold morning. Chris provided coffee and donuts to warm us while we waited for our ride to San Francisco. There was a school bus parked to the side of the lot and we soon realized that was our ride, Chauffeur included. Trying to fit some of our long-legged gentleman into a school bus seat was no easy chore. The ride to Van Ness Ave. in the city went pretty quickly. Most of us had seen the beautiful display of classic cars in the window but had never been inside. We waited a bit for the doors to open and we had the company of a couple of other car clubs. Once inside, we had the pleasure of getting up close to the cars and they even opened a few hoods. The cars are rotated in and out to keep the display fresh as there are over 88 automobiles. We stayed about 2 hours and learned facts, from the docents, about individual cars. The Damlier Town Car above weighs 9,000 lbs and is the only car they service on site because the access elevator for the cars only holds 10K. Too close to call for the limousine of a King! The Duesy s were the favorite of the guys but the gals voted for the Willys Knight at the right. You can t see the doors but they were striped with yellow plaid striping. When we gathered to go, the yellow school bus was waiting right in front to takes us home. The driver was amazing to wind his way through the city and get us back to the Park & Ride where we had reservations for a hearty lunch at Red Lobster. Thanks to Chris for the donuts and arranging the bus and lunch reservations. Thanks to Jeanne & Steve Nelson for arranging the museum tour. 9
