Jubilee Central is an historic building located in the city centre of Hull within easy reach of all major transport links. Originally the Methodist Central Hall, it was first opened in 1960 and incorporated a much older shop frontage opening onto King Edward Street. Now it houses a 600 seater auditorium, a 120 capacity multipurpose Hall and numerous other rooms that are perfect for one off events or regular group bookings. The team at Jubilee Central would be happy discuss how we might help you to make best use of the spaces we can offer. Hull is an historic city on the banks of Humber River, acting as a major port with access to the North Sea and Northern mainland Europe. It was established over 700 years ago and played a significant part in the English Civil War of 1642 when King Charles I was turned away at the city s gates, the ruins of which still stand today. One of Hull s most famous sons is the slavery abolitionist MP William Wilberforce who was born in the city and acted as it s MP for many years. Wilberforce House still stands today and can be visited for free as part of the City s wonderful collection of Museums. In more recent years the city has seen a decline in it s traditional port-based industries such as fishing. However, an economic and cultural revival has taken place in recent years with the news of significant investment in the Humber as a centre for the Renewables Industry and as Hull was announced as the UK City of Culture in 2017. Hull was recently voted one of the top 10 places to visit in the UK and is increasingly being seen as a hidden gem in the North East.

Use of equipment: Jubilee Central can provide support for your use of the AV equipment at Jubilee Central.
