One that we re particularly excited about is the Coast Walk in Sydney s Royal National Park. This will be a two day guided walk with a fairly easy grade. 4x4 Club Calendar 28 th November Sun 24 th January Lidsdale State Forest Gold Class 4x4 Club The Gold Class 4x4 Club is not your average four wheel drive club. We don t have meetings, there are no clicky groups, all trips are for 1 2 days in duration and are calendared months ahead. The most important difference is that all trips are lead by Gold Class Adventures experienced guides. Our guides have been on these trips before, are not only experienced 4wd guides but are qualified, they carry a satellite phone, recovery gear, first aid kits and are of course fully insured. Don t be left out because you re not part of the cool kids group, everyone s welcome at the Gold Class 4x4 club. Cost is $295 for the first year including a one day 4wd course and then $100 / year after that. Staff Profile Shane King Shane s favourite tour is Cape York Shane is the owner and managing director of Gold Class Adventures. After spending 7 years in the boating industry he joined the tourism industry driving tourist coaches around Australia and after a couple of years started his own tourist coach company which he operated for 10 years. For the last 5 years he has conducted four wheel drive tours to Cape York, The Canning Stock Route, Simpson Desert, Victorian High Country and many more amazing locations. Shane holds many four wheel drive qualifications, first aid qualifications and holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment making him a qualified off-road driver trainer Victorian High Country Tour Our 5 day Victorian High Country tour is like no other in that it explores the northern section of the High Country near Jindabyne and Thredbo. We follow the Snowy River, pass the spectacular Mt Cobberas, visit the headwaters of the Murray River, check out the history around the cattleman s huts of the Davies High Plains and climb over 1,800 metres to Mt Pinnibar. 2015 Dry Season Tours As we ve done in previous years our Cape York tour was held in September this year and the weather was amazing. 30 33 degrees every day and crystal clear blue skies. We again enjoyed a pristine beachfront campsite near Elim Beach before heading through Lakefield National Park and up to Weipa for the town and mine tour. We completed the full length of the old telegraph track but unfortunately had to bypass Gunshot Creek due to the destruction of all track options. Everyone in our group enjoyed their day tour out to Thursday and Horn Islands before we checked out Mutee Head for the first time as Vrylia Pt was closed for the year. Our tour finished off with spectacular private aboriginal rock art at Jowalbinna before returning to Cairns 15 Day Cape York Private Simpson Desert This year we had the pleasure of conduction a private Simpson Desert tour for a group of 12 friends. The tour headed through western NSW to Broken Hill, Wilpena Pound before heading north along the Oodnadatta track for flights over Lake Eyre. On this tour we crossed the full width of the Simpson before arriving in Birdsville and then on to Innamincka where travellers learnt about the ill fated Burke & Wills Expedition. The 17 day tour finished off by heading through Cameron Corner to Tibooburra, Burke and back to Sydney. This tour included a mixture of accommodation and camping and all customers travelled in our four luxury 4wd vehicles with their own guides.
